As the charge completed, Terix whirled on the warrior again. "If you want to bother me, do it later. Hells, do it now, but do it in transit! I don't have time!" With that he snapped Ryuu up psionically as he took off into the air, bolting at breakneck speeds for the cabin with Ryuu in tow behind him.

"Gyah?!" Ryuu clinged to the young boy who suddenly burst into flight. "Dammit kid! You're one of those 'make-everything-difficult' types, aren't you?!" Ryuu closed his eyes tight; the ale from earlier was bouncing around in his stomach in very unpleasing ways.

*At was once Kapu's backyard*
Small pieces of rock fell from where he was kicked, previously cracked by the earlier bomb. He grunted annoyingly, and turned to face his attacker, the angel. He allowed his teeth to show as he formed his beak into a twisted grin. A blast of air knocked away the angel, and Kriven turned to see Kapu.
But Kapu soon turned into a bird and fled, leaving Kriven's only opponents everyone else who had circled around him. He faced the angel, and senced the energy of Cyrus above. He pointed a claw in the direction of each one, and launched a storm of stones. However, the stones on his left arm began to remove themselves entirely, soon bits of flesh could be seen from underneath loose rock. As his attack progressed, he began to drag rocks from other parts of his body into the energy.
You didn't think I'd let you exist forever, harming my friends.
Then I'll kill them now...

Remede blinked curiously, wondering what the heck was going on. In a flash, Ryuu and who she suspected to be the psychic were both gone. She mentally shrugged. Not that she minded. It looked like she finally got rid of that Ryuu... and she didn't lie either. If he could manage to wrestle the ruby ring from the thief, it would be his. Those things cost a fortune... he'll have enough gold for weeks. With that thought in mind, she continued along the busy streets, aimed for an unknown destination.
--------------------------
Elaviel's foot had just made contact with Kriven's shin when she felt herself being pushed back with a light bout of wind. She gazed up to see Kapu, even though she didn't know him by name or even who she was. All the angel knew was that he was one of the good guys... right? At the very least, she hoped so. He did seem kinda agressive... but before he could do anything dangerous, he transformed into a bird and flew out into the open blue. Elaviel sweatdropped. Some help he is. Her attention quickly turned back to demonic-Kriven, who apparently wasn't in a very good mood.
She slid backwards in an attempt to dodge the rocks Kriven had begun pelting at everyone. As his flesh began to show in a dark red color, her eyes narrowed in disgust. He's slowly destroying himself just to kill us? What kind of a demon are we dealing with?! Her blue eyes followed each and every rock and with amazing precision, she dodged everything. "We can't keep this up forever. Ari, do something! Distract him!"

Post by Shiori Ailill on Mar 22, 2007 18:42:15 GMT -6
A little distance away, Shiori flew over the forests that had been home to her for the past couple of years. A gentle breeze tousled the half-elf's blue hair. She stopped flying for a moment, closing her eyes and smiling, enjoying the feel of the wind against her pale skin. It was good to be back, to a place she could call home. When Shiori found out that Cruxis was close to catching up with her again, she left without warning, leaving a message to the others that she'll be fine, but that she had to go. They were everything to her, and the former Cruxis angel would be damned before she would let harm befall the ones she cared most about.
A small twittering bird flew past her. Without warning, Shiori doubled over in the air, clutching at her heart and stomach. Her throat clenched, tears sprung up in her large, violet eyes. Shiori's mind reeled as the tears overflowed. Why did she suddenly feel such despair and anger? Like the world was against her? She felt like she was drowning, unable to escape from some unknown pain. The angel wanted to run, from what, she didn't know, only the feeling of getting away and escaping filled her heart. Just as suddenly it started, it stopped. Shiori hovered in place, gasping for air. Why does this happen from time to time? Unexplained mood swings seemed to be plauging her lately. However, they seemed to have disappeared since she left a year ago. Shiori closed her eyes, trying to figure out what was wrong with her. A name came to her mind, the young woman looked over her shoulder.
"Kapu?" Shiori asked to the air, unsure why she was thinking about him in particular at that time. She wasn't thinking about him for long as loud crashes in the distance caught her attention. "What in the world?" She whispered, and flew full-speed to the commotion, drawing one of her daggers with her left hand while her mana chain whip materialized in her right.
***
Shiroi screeched to a halt as she flew over what used to be Kapu's house. The destruction was unbelievable. Shiori's attention quickly turned to what used to be the front yard, where all the action was. A bunch of people were surrounding a large creature, what seemed to be some sort of rock demon. She recognized most of the fighters as her friends. The half-elf's heart clenched when she first saw Lavi, thinking she was a Cruxis angel, but then realized that she seemed to know Ari...
The angel looked back at the rock creature, trying to figure out how she should deal with the thing. It was powerful, that she already deduced from the result of the fierce battle everyone was fighting.
A knot formed in the girl's stomach. "Oh no, not again!" Shiori gasped, knowing what was about to happen. No! I will not let this happen! I need to help them! No time for stupid mood swings! Despite her wishing, despair filled her again, yet this time not quite as forcefully. It was different too. Yes, there was hopelessness again, and anger too, but there was a bit of fear and oddly a sense of love as well. As if someone wanted to do something desperately but is unable to, and because of that is afraid what the concequences will be for those around him.....
Shiori's eyes shot open and immediately flew down towards the others, Rock... Oh Goddess! That's Kriven!. The half-elf sheathed her dagger and swung her whip, gathering momentum. The beast that Kriven had become was pelting everyone with rocks from his own body. Luckly, the creature was facing away from her. Knowing that everyone didn't have much time left, she cast her whip out at Kriven, the whip lengthening at her will, hopeing to bind and immobalize the beast. Perhaps someone could knock him out then. Shiori wasn't sure on what else to do, desperation was ruling her mind and heart. The last two years were bliss to her, having friends, having a home. The memories rushed back to her, their adventures, their laughter, their kindness. She didn't want that taken away from her again. It wasn't going to be taken from her again!

Kriven's stones continued to blast through the air, and with each one a wave of pain shot over him. Suddenly a strange amount of energy caught his attention. However, he had no time to react before the crimson whip smacked against his back. He grew unbalanced, from the force of the attack as well as the lopsided rock segments. He crashed to the ground, unearthing a few jagged stones.
When the whip had hit a strange energy seemed to course through-out him, like a third entity, both within and outside of his consiousness.

Pretty table~ OOC: ((That last line was deep, Kriv. Really deep. XDDD Graphic by Red.))
IC: Ari had heard Elaviel's frantic call and was about to cast a spell of wind to perhaps knock Kriven off of his feet. She figured that he was such a large creature that once he was on the ground, he'd waste at least a bit of time trying to get back up. Right when she raised her arm and gathered energy around her, everything seemed to freeze. What was that in the sky? Ari squinted to get a better view of whatever it was. Shiori? Is that really Shiori? She was taken by surprise; she hadn't seen the angel in what seemed like ages. There was so much that Shiori had missed in the past year... Kapu had added extentions to his house (or what was left of it) and Ari and Cyrus were now engaged. Oops. Silly me. Now's not the time to day dream! The half-elf snapped back into reality.
While Ari was in Lala land, Elaviel frowned upon the demonic beast who had possessed Kriven. Omfg. Somebody distract him!!! I can save him but I need people work with me!!! She opened her mouth to voice a complaint when out-of-the blue a winged figure appeared. The newcomer lashed out a mana-whip and bound Kriven's arms to his side so he couldn't attack anyone else. Brilliant! This'll buy time! Elaviel's feathery wings sprung from her back as she flew towards the sky. Up there, no one would bother her chanting. "You! Whoever you are!" She pointed at Shiori from across the blue. "Good thinking! Keep him in that noose!"
From down below Ari had waved frantically to Shiori, realizing that for the time being, she and the others would be safe from harm. She knew that Shiori's spells and weapons were rather strong and would most likely hold Kriven off long enough to buy them some time. During those few moments, Ari backed away, afraid that Kriven might trip from the sudden pull of the whip and land on her. She motioned everyone else to back off too. What is Lavi going to do? I know that she's trained in the art of light spells but I sure hope that she'd hurry! Kriven is strong... he won't stay in that whip's bind forever. Just in case, Ari gathered energy around her like she did before, this time focusing it to take the shape of wind. If Kriven broke free, she could send a mini tornado at him to keep him distracted.
Elaviel's white wings beat against the currents, keeping her in place as she murmured something in a foreign language. Her eyes closed, then reopened in utter shock. Wait... how does that spell go again? Let's see... Does it begin with--? No, that's not it, that's something else. What about... It suddenly occured that she had forgotten how to start the spell she was about to use because she hardly ever chanted the words. Hrm... oh, wait, wait! No... Wait. YES!!! The angel took a strange stance and whispered a few words. A circle of white light formed around her agile body, as the energy stirred with each new word from her lips. This incantation would take a while... hopefully, she would be able to finish in time. Until then, the newcomer's noose had better hold out. And if not, the others had better think quick.

Seeing everyone trying to hold off the giant monster, Lékayes snapped back into reality. I can't just sit back here hoping everything is fine. That things destroying everything. Thinking of an apropriate spell to use, she drew up more mana from her arsenal and got into a stance to cast.
Vesaus coughed as he pulled himself to his feet, using a rather large section of rock from the creatures attack to steady himself. Using his feet to flip his swords into his hands, he stood ready to fight again. Though he knew that creature couldn't be fought with the weapons he was using, he tried to look ready to try.
The mana flow whipping around her by now, Lékayes was ready to cast. "Icicle!" She yelled, the mana shooting forward to encase the stone beast in a large chunch of ice. Concentrating deaply, she used her spell in a way that wouldn't end up hurting the creature at all. She used all her energy trying to stop it from moving. I know I can't hold it for long. Hopefully it's long enough to let that angel do what she's trying to do...

Shiori sighed slightly as Kriven was encased in ice, her violet whip still binding him, one more obstical for the creature to get through before he can wreak havoc, that much more time to figure out what to do. Just hang on Kriven. We'll get you out of this, somehow. Just hang on! Shiori gripped her whip, she heard voices calling out to her, but she didn't understand what they were saying. The angel just focussed her will into her weapon, trying to hold Kriven for as long as possible.
The whip pulsed, a crimson streak ran from the demon to the angel. The half-elf's stomach twinged as her head gets foggy.
The whip pulses again.

OOC: ((Here's the long-awaited spell. :3 Graphic by Red.))
IC: We're running out of time, Ari thought, frowning at the sight before her. Small beads of sweat formed on her face, trickling down her forehead and cheek. Kriven was struggling against Shiori's whip just as she suspected he would. She wasn't sure how much longer the noose would hold-- hopefully Lavi would finish in time. Ari really disliked the idea of pegging Kriven with one of her wind attacks. Although it would probably only leave a bruise or two, she still didn't want to hurt, particularly not after this sort of ordeal. She didn't think that being turned into a mindless demon would be too pleasing. Her turquoise eyes glanced up at the two angels in the sky, both of whom she knew fairly well. Both of them were working; Shiori held tightly on the violet whip, while a ring of light formed around Lavi, obviously a result from her chanting. Come on, Lavi... you have to hurry! As much as Ari knew that she couldn't rush these kinds of things, her mind mentally nagged at her friend. The half-elf had no idea what was going on. This spell Elaviel had started was unfamiliar to her-- what could it possibly do to help? Ari held her pose; the wind in her hands coursed viciously, threatening to burst from the grip. However, she held her ground and refused to let the burst of the wind from her hands. It would be ready should she need to smack Kriven with it.
Meanwhile, Elaviel's mind was filled with various dialects. She had figured out which spell she wanted to perform as soon as she saw Kriven struggling to battle his inner demons... but figuring out how to cast the spell was an entirely different process. The angel was blessed with the gift of tongue-- she spoke various languages. Then again, she was well over 2000 years old. Even she had lost count of her birthdays. Elaviel was crowded with many, many thoughts. It seemed like she only remembered bits and pieces of the spell she had chosen to do. Everytime she reached a deadend, she would have to rethink the possibilities and what words would flow with the current rhythm with her chanting. The more complicated the spell, the longer it is, she mentally sighed. The main problem was remembering words in the angelic language she needed to use; it had been ages since she had last spoken the tongue, and she failed to recall the most important aspects of it. This is such a pain! I can remember a word in one language and then I forget it for another! GAH! Kriven owes me big for this because I'm wasting all of my brain cells on him!!! If a person could use an x-ray to examine the thoughts in Elaviel's head, they would see quite a bit of knowledge circulating wildly inside her mind. It was getting hectic in there...
Ow... darn it, Lavi! Hurry up! At this point, Ari was getting more anxious than ever. And irritated. Just a bit. It was mostly because her legs were beginning to become sore. The stance she had taken involved her legs bending at the knees, lowering herself half-way to the ground. It wasn't much of a bit deal for a person to hold for short periods of time-- for example, the time it would actually take to cast such a spell. However, it had been a lot longer. Ari had been holding her spell for the past few minutes, waiting for Elaviel to remember and cite her angelic ritual. The wind was simple enough to tame; she was just afraid to change positions in fear of the small tornado freeing itself from her grasp. Perhaps it would be better if she thought about happier things and let her mind wander away from her aching legs. But what do I have to linger on? What makes me happy? A lot of things made Ari happy. She was a very easy person to satisfy-- picking apples on a warm autumn day, skipping stones across the lake, raking leaves from the path to the front door, feeding squirrels acorns from her own hands, practicing her bo-staff form beneath the full moon, climbing the great oak in the front yard, giggling as she pegged Cyrus in the head with a snowball, Cyrus in general... Ari mentally sighed in peace. Life was really good sometimes...
Now what was that word again? Hrm... not working with me, eh? Elaviel was still trying to word the more complicated aspects of the spell. It came about more smoothly now that her mind had sunk into the basic rhythm of the chanting the dialect of the angelic language. However, there were still bits and pieces of it missing. She continued searching for these missing links inside of her mind. A few more minutes passed by. She never even thought about those people who were down there, trying to keep Kriven from breaking free-- apparently, she was too absorbed in piecing together her spell. Ahh... ahh! That's perfect! That's the end of it! Elaviel let the last few words slip off of her tongue, like a water along the smooth rocks of the river and spread her wings to boost herself and then glide closer to Kriven. Her voiced sounded admist everything else-- soft, melodic words, almost like a small tune. "Salvation of Angels! Redemption through Heaven! Trial by Light!" Bringing her hand down as if she were announcing a death sentence, Elaviel brought a circle of light down upon Kriven's demonic form. The brightness flashed among everything, causing everyone's vision to be blinded for a short amount of time. Lavi felt her wings give out, and she fell to the ground, exhausted She was still conscious, however, recalling the affects of Trial by light. It was a spell only few knew how to cast. She was proud of being able to do it-- the light turned the victim's own soul against him. If the victim's soul was pure at heart, then he would be purged of all current evils dwelling in his body; if not, then he would be destroyed from his own darkness. Let's just hope that Kriven isn't a bad guy at heart...

Kriven screamed as he felt pain wash through his body. Chunks of rock crumbled to the ground, pieces of hair and flesh were beginning to reveal themselves. Even the rock demon's eye collapsed, revealing the human blue eye beneath it... at least... one of his eyes returned to normal. The other stayed red and black as the rock around it collapsed and fell to the earth, shattering and burning away in sparks of blue helfire.
As he slowly returned to his human form, it was painfully obvious that not all of the demon had been removed from his body. The first clue was that his eye was still demonic. The second was his arm, remaining covered in rocks. One large difference showed itself between how he had previously been, it was within the size of his arm. His rock arm had lost most of it's demonic, yes, however it was larger then before, and two large stone spikes jutted from Kriven's shoulder.
He let off a painful scream, his teeth returning to normal. His face and body was covered in bruises, cuts, gashes and blood trickled off many limbs. Everything went red, and he collapsed onto the dirt.

Vesaus slowly pulled himself to his feet. Trying to look around, his vision was red and blurry. Reaching up with his hand, he felt a gash above his right eye, cut when he fell, bleeding freely. Reaching into his belt-pouch, he grabbed a small bit of healing herbs, and pressed them to bleeding area. After it slowly stopped bleeding, he wiped away the blood that was there and looked around again.
The battle must be over. He thought, seeing the giant golem gone. Walking, he took toll of what had happened. That cottage is pretty much destroyed. No one seems seriously hurt, though. The last though stopped in his mind, as he looked down and something he hit with his foot. His foot hit a rock, but it was connected to the stone arm of the collapsed person in the dirt, covered in blood. Oh my... Vesaus's eyes got wide as he kneeled down next to him. What the Hell happened?!?! Frantically, he tried pressing some herbs to some wounds, but he was too injured to be affected by it. His eye's darting around, Vesaus yelled. "He needs someone to heal him, with magic or something, Now!" Oh... We better not be too late.
