Lékayes peered through the trees toward the cottage, a faint stream of light from the windows of the cabin filtering through toward her. She stood on the top of a large boulder, wiggling around, trying to see inside. Behind her, Vesaus sat quietly on a log. In his hands was a small knife, and a so far unidentifiable lump of a wood. Around him were many small wood shavings and sections of branches. His tactful fingers and wrist guided the knife over the edge of the block, ever-so delicately shaping it to his desires.
Silently, Lékayes used a bit of wind magic to guide her to the ground softly. Sighing, she bowed her head a tad. "Well, I can't tell if anyone's there. I looked, but we're just too far away." Drifting over the Vesaus, she plopped down on the log. "Of course, we could always just knock on the door, like I suggested?" Lékayes half-asked him again, smiling.
Vesaus glanced up from his work for a moment to try to see the cabin, before looking back to his hands. "No. Like I said, why do we need to even knock on their door? To get food? Last time I tried to just knock on someones door asking for food, they hit me with a frying pan. So I don't want to try it again."
"Awww..." Lékayes pouted, jumping to her feet. "You worry too much. I doubt they would leave a poor little girl out here to starve." Making puppy eyes, she stared at Vesaus for a few moments. After realizing he wasn't paying attention, she immediately grabbed his arm, and tugged him to his feet. "I'm knocking on that door, OK? 'Cause people are nice, like me!"
Before Vesaus could protest, Lékayes had already dragged him almost to the cottage. "Fine, If you really want to get hit with a frying pan, go ahead." He said calmly, yanking his arm away. "Then after that, we'll go with my suggestions."
Lékayes stumbled forward a bit, stopping on the step in front of the door. Smiling, she said. "You don't understand people as good as you think. Trust me, people will always let you it!" Doing a fancy wrist movement, she knocked on the door three times.

((Mo, you rock my sox. *gives you a cookie*))
"Oh? What was that? Maybe Aleu locked herself out again," Ari pondered out loud. She pointed to a seat. "Lavi, sit! You've worked hard to make us such a great meal so I know you're dying to eat something! I'll get the door really quickly; just give me a few seconds." The half-elf scurried past the kitchen door and found her way through an array of couches, sofas, coffee tables and such to get to the front door. She tripped over one of her friend's jackets at the last moment and crashed into the door, although she caught herself at that last minute and succeeded in not smacking her face against the wood. Straightening herself, she twisted the lock and propped the door open to reveal a stranger.
She stood shorter than Ari did with a friendly expression on her face. Her red hair drifted to her shoulders in medium-lengthed locks. This is odd... we hardly ever get visitors, particularly strangers. I was surprised that Lavi dropped in today... and here's another person! The girl seemed rather harmless so Ari opened the door in wider, smiling. "Hello! What can I do for you?" Her voice was cheerful and showed warmth so that the newcomer wouldn't be afraid to answer up... not that she'd be afraid to reply anyway; she was the one who knocked on the door in the first place. Yet, Ari figured that she might be in need of help or something-- the forests were pretty dense around these parts, so maybe the girl was lost?
"What are you doing here anyway?" the half-elf asked curiously. "We don't get many visitors around here. Few people like wandering around in the woods!" She stiffled a small laugh. While she awaited an answer, Ari peered outside. There was Aleu and Silver sparring... Wait a minute. Ari had no idea that Silver knew how to fight with a sword. The female had used a bow and arrow once upon a time to help her and the group out with a mission, but never before had she drawn a blade. What was wrong with today? Poor Ari was sorely confused.

((Yay Cookie!
I always seem to post on a new page O.o))
"See? I told you I wouldn't get hit with a frying pan!" Lékayes yelled at Vesaus, leaning out of the door. Turning back to the door, she looked up that woman who opened it. "Hehe. Actually, we are just wandering around in the woods. Vesaus over there - I'm Lékayes - grew up in the forest, so he likes spending time here." The red-head grined wildly back.
Vesaus sighed. Hmm. Well, these people seem nice enough. And as much as I don't want to admit it, I need a night or two indoors. Walking up behind Lékayes, he put his hands on his shoulders and looked level at the person at the door. "Its true, i'm a woodsman. But aparently Lékayes here is getting tired of eating just animals, and tired of sleeping on the ground. So basically, what we're trying to say is.... Is there any possible way that we could...." Vesaus paused, scratching his beard, searching for the right words to say as to not get another frying pan to the head.
"What we're trying to say is," Lékayes jumped in, "Can we come in?" She giggled a little, getting hungry smelling all the food. She leaned a bit to get a better look inside, seeing many places set out for food, and two people getting ready to eat. Say yes, say yes, say yes.... or sure, or ok, or 'umm, i guess so' or....

Kysho's stomach let loose a rumbling noise that seemed to echo faintly in the woods. A sigh spilled from his lips as he plopped tiredly onto the ground. The boy hadn't eaten in almost three days because he had been lost in the plains nearby. It wasn't his fault that everything was grass, which made knowing directions 'impossible', right? Right... He folded his legs, grumbling, and rested his elbows on his knees to gaze blankly at the ground. I'm... hungry. I wonder if I have any left over gold from my last heist to get some food at the next city... The thief pursed his lips tightly as he reached for his loot sack tied onto his belt and untied it hastily. He pulled it open and examined the inside; a frown rose on his face as he gazed at its emptiness.
"Nyaaah," the brunette boy cried out dismally as he dropped his sack to the ground. He leaned backwards with his palms on the ground behind him for support and stared up past the canopy of trees at the night sky. Kysho let himself fall to the ground, a puff of dirt coming up in minute whisps. "How am I gonna get food now? Wah." He jolted back up into a relaxed sitting position, which tended to help him think better.
An almost inaudible sound hit his ears. He blinked a few times in confusion, then listened hard to see if he really heard anything. It was a stifled noise, but he could make it out to be talking. This thought processed in his head for a moment. Talking meant people, and people meant one of two things. One, he had someone to steal from to get more gold therefore being able to buy food, or two, they just might be nice enough to give him food.
The boy's stomach gave an even louder growl then before. He stopped pondering about what to do next, since apparently that just mades him even more hungry. He tied his loot sack back loosely onto his belt and eagerly got to his feet, setting his mind in its 'Yay I'm gonna get food now!' mood before scrambling out of the forest.
His eyes fell upon a cozy looking cottage, nestled in a clearing. Ooh. Spiffy. The voices were considerably louder now, and Kysho could make out what the people were saying. Ooh. People. It was then that the delicious smell of food smacked the boy in the nose, ((Bwaha. *mental image* xD)) and he had to struggle hard to keep from salviating all over the place. Ooh. Food. Ooh. Smells nice.
Kysho began a sprinting, almost skipping, kind of thing towards the cottage entrance, imagining all the food that could be awaiting him. About anything would taste good right now. If they let me have food, maybe I'll be able to stay for the night. Ooh, then maybe I can steal stuff before bailing out of this place the next day. Ooh. Spiffy.
Rounding the corner, he skidded to a stop as he saw the people standing at the front of the cottage. He cracked a few branches under his feet incase they didn't notice him. Deciding to take the nice, unforceful route first, he donned one of his innocent looking faces, his lower lip beginning to quiver. "Excuse me, really nice people... I'm just a hungry little boy that was lost in the woods... My mean mom and dad just thrust me out onto the street one night, and I've had to live on my own ever since... And I'm hungry. Could I maybe stay here for just one little night to regain my stamina before making the long trek to the next city, all by my lonesome self...? And I'm hungry."

"Pffft" Ryan snorted. He was sitting on the roof, why? He didn't quite know himself, but the chimny was keeping him warm. He wondered if they had a fire with a rost flaming over it. Although judging but the smells, that was unlikely.
Ryan had been folowing this lot for a day now, and now they end up at this house asking to get in. ~~Humans truly are pethetic.~~ He thought to himself as he lent over to observe the activities down below. Nothing of any real interest at all. Just talking. "I guess that they pose no threat to this place anyway." he muttered.
Reluctantly Ryan jumped off the roof to behind the house. He'd never been to this part of this particular place before. Hiding in the trees he snuck around to see the person at the front of the door. To his saprise, what looked like a half-elf was standing in the enterence smiling. ~~Could she be happy that they've come? Or is just faking it?~~ Ryan didn't know what to do. Maybe he should just creap out and leave. ~~To be rauined? Never!~~
Ryan continued to observe, so quite, no one would be able to hear him.
((Bah, P-chan got there first, oh well. Mine still holds out.))

Ari waited patiently for the girl to finish, along with her companion who seemed to pop out of nowhere. So the two had been wandering around in the woods for quite some time. The half-elf never would have guessed it had they not told her, but she supposed that she never was the wary type of person who had that attention-to-detail personality. They appeared to be weary, lacking in a good meal, and they could probably have smelled the delicious dinner from the kitchen even all the way outside. After all, although no one ever went hungry in Kapu's household, it wasn't every night that there was a steaming meal on the table. Particularly if Aleu took up her duty as chef. Ari nodded as Lékayes related her story and asked if she would be allowed to come inside. Of course, Arynielle realized that by letting these travelers in the house, she would have to feed them. Or rather, Elaviel would, since she made the majority of the meal. ...but there was no way the kind half-elf would let them go hungry. She knew that it was a horrible feeling to not know where her next meal would come from.
Instead, she nodded her head with a friendly grin in her face. "You're more than welcome to join us for dinner," she replied, propping the door open for the guests to come in. "And if you want, I'm sure we can find a place for you to spend the night as well... you two look like you could use a nice feather bed! Come on in, Lékayes and Vesaus." Taking a good look at the two of them, she paused for a few seconds to sort her thoughts before beginning to speak again. "If you follow the trail of couches and sofas, you'll find a hallway-- two of them, actually. Take the one on the right and it should lead you to a pair of swinging double doors. That's the kitchen. My friend, Lavi, is in there at the moment, serving dinner. If you want something to fill your stomach with, just join her at the table." The half-elf began to wonder if there would be enough chairs and plates if these guests kept on appearing. "By the way, I'm Ari!" She showed the two travelers toward the mentioned hallway with a light wave of her hand.
As Ari was ushering the guests inside, her elven ears twitched as she heard something-- the snapping of twigs to be exact. Since she was so in tune with nature and forest around her, she could easily recognize something as simple as that. Once the two newcomers stepped past the door frame, she returned outside to search for the source of the sound. To her surprise, it was another stranger. Wow, I never thought that we could have so many guests in one day... she mentally mused in surprise. It wasn't necessarily an unpleasant one-- simply unexpected. Ari would have greeted him with a simply "hello" first but he appeared to have his own story to relate... after telling his tale, the half-elf could only blink in surprise. He seemed extremely sad and although Ari was the type of gullible person who would fall for some sort of tale like his, she was emotionally stirred by his story. He was quite a good actor, and even if the boy wasn't simply shedding alligator tears, if his explanation had some truth in it, he was still talented enough to make people believe what he wanted them to.
"Oh dear..." were the first words to escape her lips after the boy finished his speech. "Well, if you want, please join us for dinner! Lavi's inside right now and she just finished making us a delicious meal... I'm sure you can probably smell in from here already." She smiled as she often did when meeting others. This poor boy was lost and hungry... she had to find someway to help him out. Besides, Ari was positive that Aleu wouldn't object. She wasn't sure about Kapu, with his cautiousness and all... but at least his sister held an influence over him. "I'll find a place for you to stay too... maybe up in the attic we'll have enough room. If anything, you could just find refuge on the sofa in the livingroom of need be." Ari placed a gentle hand on the boy's back as she prompted him to go inside of the house. "Come on in, now. Dinner's waiting on the table! I'm Arynielle Fallyce, but you can just call me Ari... What's your name by the way?" She stepped inside, and though she thought she heard someone else outside, she quickly forgot about it, only to follow the delicious smell of mashed potatoes to the kitchen.

((After actually looking at my characters and realizing there were some chronological inaccuracies, they have been edited. This is two years after Mission 2, therefore: Aleu is 17, Serene is 19, Kapu has turned 16 a couple months ago. Silver is 15, and Kara has not been born yet (and won't be for a while ^^)))
A soft thump followed by a quiet "ow" came from the living room, adjacent to the kitchen. Serene slowly got to her feet, rubbing her arm gingerly where she had banged it. Wings folded, she opened the door to the kitchen and stood blinking blearily at the new arrivals.
"Whozzat?" she asked groggily, tugging on Ari's sleeve and making a "all-them-peeps" gesture with the other hand.
---
Aleu and Silver traded blows in the front for a while, but as Aleu gained the upper hand they started retreating behind the house. Silver rallied and regained a couple feet when they passed the garden, but Aleu could tell that she was quickly tiring. The broadsword, for all her show at the beginning, was much too heavy for the slim girl (years as a pickpocket on the streets had left her with a chopsticky frame). Her swings began to lag, and her parries were sloppy and hasty.
Eventually, she tried an energetic but crude thrust that Aleu easily sidestepped. She lunged forward in a shoulder tackle, gripping the hilt of the sword and wrenching it loose, then tripping Silver over onto her back with the flat of the blade. The smaller girl (Silver is three years younger) fell into the soggy ground next to her garden, sending up a small splatter of mud. Aleu winced.
"Sorry," Aleu said, offering a hand. Silver pushed it away and got up on her own.
"female dog," she snarled, adding on a long stream of four-letter words. She snatched up the broadsword in one hand then stormed into the house. Aleu sighed, nibbling on her lip.
"She's going to have to watch her temper... I thought Kapu was going to talk to her about that." Flicking and then sheathing her blade, Aleu followed her into the house.
- - -
"Dang," she said, entering the kitchen through the same door Serene had entered through. "I don't think we have enough chairs..." She grabbed Ari by the shoulder as she passed and spun her around. "Whozzat?" she asked, tugging on Ari's sleeve and making a "all-them-peeps" gesture with the other hand.

"I can eat standing at the counter..." Kriven offers, standing and offering his chair to the first taker.
He grabs his small bowl of stew, still steaming hotly (and to his dismay, burning his flesh hand the longer he holds it.) He places the bowl on an emptied corner of the counter, eyeing the newcomers with some unease. He was looking them over, an attempt at distinguishing if they had hostile intentions.
Deciding he's spent too much time in his attempt to figure out these new people, he relaxes and leans against the counter, careful not to spill his stew.

"Thank you, really nice perso-" Kysho thought that one over for a moment. He put on his innocent look again and stared up at her with a sweet smile. "...Thank you, Ari. And my name is Kysho, but you can just call me, uh, ...Kysho. Thank you so much again for letting me stay here for a while. And for the food. I'm really hungry..." The brunette thief scratched the back of his head uneasily as he poked his head inside the house. He noticed all the people inside, but that thought disappated as his eyes' gaze fell on the kitchen, more precisely the food inside the kitchen.
Kysho's hunger almost made him make a mad dash for the delicious looking heaps of food, but something in his head told him to stay put. He had always been trained to never eat food unless he knew the person who made it, for fear of getting poisoned or something of the sort. A thief could never be too careful. His stomach let loose a fierce sound that startled even himself, and he screamed mentally to not eat anything until he saw someone else eat first. Gah, this is freaking torture. Screw getting poisoned. No one in their right mind would poison me; they'd be too scared since I would totally whup them afterwards. I gotta eat something. Mmm.
His mind set, he carefully walked further into the house and apprehensively shifted his eyes from person to person. Trust no one except myself... Nyee. Kysho noticed it was warmer in here than it was outside, and his reflexes loosened a tad. He tended to be quicker to react in heat then cold. Staying observent of his surroundings, he entered the kitchen.
"Uh," the boy blankly muttered as he stared at the food on the table. He wanted to take his eyes off it to look at the rest of the room and the other peope inside, but they didn't want to move. His stomach grumbled a tremendous roar, and his eye twitched. He didn't want to just walk over and sit at the table, that felt oddly rude. Oddly rude because he didn't usually feel rude about anything. He stood there in the kitchen doorway, seeming to wait for approval to sit. "Um..."

"Just serving dinner right now? Wow, we had perfect timing!" Lékayes shouted, skipping off down the hall toward the kitchen. And she gingerly pushed the door open, her eyes opened wide staring at the large amounts of food, and the huge table set out for many people. "Whoa." The red-head gawked, just staring around the room for a moment.
"Oh, no, you don't have to do that!" Lékayes said, dismayed, toward the person offering his chair. "We'll eat at the counter if we have to." She said, strolling over to him. "I'm Lékayes. Me and Vesaus are used to not eating at tables. So you should just sit down and eat at the table." She had to refrain from tugging on his arm. That would just be rude...
~~
Vesaus, after stepping inside the doorway, turned back toward Ari to thank her for letting them in. Before he could, another boy appeared, asking to come in too. Soon, he ran inside the way Lékayes had. Vesaus stood in thought. I wonder if that kid had been following us the whole time. He was really close, and we didn't hear him....
He shook his head and looked at Ari again. "Uh, thanks for letting us in." He said, before turning toward the kitchen like all the rest.

"No, it's okay. I-" Kriven never had an oppurtunity to finish his sentence.
A loud rumble and a sound like thunder blasted throughout the cabin. The entire house shook, the stew spilled onto the counters and floors. Some splashed onto Kriven's hand, which he shook intensly from the burning pain.
"Kriven! Come out here!" a voice demanded from somewhere outside the cabin.
"I know that voice..." Kriven mutters, a hint of fury in his voice.
He makes his way down the hall and through the rooms, eventually reaching the large wood door. He shoves it open with great force, and nearly stumbles out. He stares dead ahead, glaring at the figure before him.
The tall man held a sword in his hand. His blue hair jumped around in the vicous wind. He smirked, his blue eyes locked onto Kriven. His ears seemed to be deformed, unlike any known race. They were pointed, like an elves, but shorter and fatter, like a dogs.
"It's been a long time." the figure began, his voice clear and loud, "Eh, brother?"

((Heads up in case you didn't notice before, but Silver's posts are going to be a bit... profane. xD;; She was angry when she was young.)) Whizz-shink! Something dropped behind Kriven's brother, striking the earth behind him heavily. Serene exited the kitchen, scimitars in hand and summoned broadsword buried deep into the ground, point-first, behind the new arrival. She lifted the right-hand blade lazily (Serene triple-wields, two scimitars and the broadsword) and pointed it at his chest. "I'd appreciate it very much if, the next time you call," she drawled, wings slowly unfurling in as menacing a manner as they could (being white, blue, 'n fluffy). "You knock first." - - - Silver pulled off her clothes, angrily throwing them into the hamper before putting on a new set of drier flax linens. Seething, she snatched up something from her desk: A set of hoops, strung together into a round chain, each of the nine rings about eight or nine inches in diameter. Each link was colored solidly, but differently, in an array of hues from silver to blue and black. Silver gave them a small flick, rolling them up into a coil around her wrist. She was leaving her room when the house rumbled, making her grab the wall for support. In addition to a few low swears, she said "Aleu... I told that whore to keep the **** out of my kitchen..." She took the steps down quickly, rounding around the end of them into the kitchen. Stew was spilled, plates were broken ("bastard"), and the table was tottering unsteadily. Silver stopped it with a hand. "What happened here? Did that ass screw something up again?" ((FLOOR PLAN! GROUND FLOOR))

"Hmft. Fool, you can't beat." Krovon answers monotonously, his voice not showing signs of fear, his face still emotionless. He reaches around the sword pointed at his chest, in a gesture he opens his hand, "Now Kriven, why don't you do this the easy way and give it to me?"
Kriven twitches without noticing, a flinch.
What the hell is he doing here? No.. I know what he wants... But how far is he going to go to get it...
Kriven remains silent, staring at Krovon, daring him to make a move.
"As you wish." Krovon states.
Without much time between his answer, Krovon has launched his other hand forward with speeds which can't be seen by a human eye. A punch he intends to deliver to the stomache of Serene.

Serene didn't have time to react to the danger once she had recognized the slight shift in the folds of his clothing, but the protective wards she had set up with Kapu's help did. Thin walls of green light snapped into existence around her, absorbing the impact of the punch easily.
The green lights faded, but Serene could see the faint glimmer around her that indicated the barrier was still active, just invisible. She flicked her scimitars around into a fighting stance, quickly judging the distance between herself, Krovon, and the broadsword behind his back. She braced herself to move: Basilica, the defensive spell, would dissipate as soon as Serene left her position.
"And, most importantly," said a male voice, entering from the dining room. "Never strike the host." Kapu cut a much more impressive figure than two years ago, having grown a bit, deepened his voice ever so slightly (juuust enough), and clad in dark blue garb and a black cloak that was sure to be popular with the ladies. Whirr whispered gently in his hand as he lazily opened the giant fan to her full spread, holding her easily to the side in one hand.
"But please, let's take this outside," Kapu said in a level voice, gesturing coolly at the door. His bright gold eyes flashed. "We wouldn't want to disturb their meal."
Serene tried to keep herself from gawking. Dangit, when did Kapu learn to be sexy?

"Tft. I'll take this where I want to take it." Krovon grins vicously. His fingers tense, then clench into a fist. Sparks and zap-lines of blue electricity pulses around his hands, barely noticable.
"LIGHTNING BLADE!" Krovon shouts, stretching his arm outward and opening his hand.
A stream of blue and yellow electricity shoots outward at an immense speed. His aim is directly at Kapu. The stream stops, but it manages to blast pieces of wood off the wall, and char the rest. Kriven's gloved hand is clenched over the stream itself, preventing it from going any further. He glares at Krovon. His muscles tense.
The glove rips to shreds and falls to the ground, though small pieces still dangle from his arm, caught in crevices between the rocks that form it. The electrical flow shoots upward, travelling along, spiralling around, his arm... the rock slowly changes and glows... it eventually becomes normal sized, but pure white and glowing brightly with a yellow tint. Streams of blue electricity shoot up and down the now glowing arm.
"Sorry Kapu.." Kriven mutters, before opening his hand and facing his palm towards Krovon, "LIGHTNING BLADE!"
The same electrical force, however smaller and slower, emerges from the palm of Kriven's hand. Though it is slower, Krovon underestimates its speed, and is blasted in the chest. The attack doesn't halt, Krovon gets knocked through the wall, landing in the yard. The smell of burnt wood fills the air, and smoke rises from small flames that frame the large hole.
