Appear at a moment one did. Luckily, it was a mere wolf.
"...covered." With a mere dash & slash, the one was dealt with. But, it wasn't over. about ½ a dozen more growls came out. "Oh, just lovely. Just bloody well lovely." about 14 wolves appeared, not counting the 2 or 3 still growling. "I just hope you guys don't like wolves too much." a good 8 of them leaped at Omio. "Hm." With a spinning slash, those 8 were pretty much butchered. Yet 2 more leaped and only 1 of them actually landed on Omio's back. "Easy enough." he intentionally fell backwards and semi-squashed the wolf. Then he got up and impaled the single. He got jumped by the 3 last wovles. "Gk-" He was taken off guard. A lot of barking at each other soon gave rise to a fight amongst each other - still over Omio. Thing is, Omio got all of the pain of it. when they went to tackle each other, Omio ended up getting plowed down over and over again. The injury on the back of his head was getting worse and worse, but it was nowhere close to significant yet. "Enough of this." With a valiant effort, he thrusted his sword to impale 2 of the 3 fighting wolves. There was 1 left. "Let me be, and I'll let you be." For some odd reason, the wolf seemed to understand and backed off to tend to her puppies. They were perfectly unharmed.
Then he began to get a headache. Grek, I can't relent now. I must go further! He hid the pain he was in and rejoined the group.
((Stubborn - alike me.))

((I'm fast-forwarding it to the Gondowan Cliffs, before we enter this next continent. It's about 7:00 p.m., and we'll be making camp here before we cross into Gondowan. Beware; no wolves and bears here. I'll introduce any foes we might encounter, unless Shiori remembers what creatures prowl these areas and wants to bring them in. The terrain here is kinda like that of Africa's, but it's not too warm just yet, kinda half way.))
Nicodemus sighed and stopped, leaning against the wall. The path led into a mountanous region of cliffs and sea water; they were on the edge of the continent. The dirt was brown, the grasses tanned with dehydration. Short trees with wide branches were on the gray cliff sides, whose rocky surface disallowed any safe climbing. There were cliffs on both sides of them, the sea-water out of sight. "We should rest here. Would that be wise...Ariane?" hesitated Nicodemus. He momentarily gazed at her, then looked to the left, seeing a small pond of clean water, a spring. After a few moments, he looked back at Ariane, hoping to see her emerald green eyes again filled with mischief and energy.

Omio was second to stop. "I'll be first to agree to a break right now. Pushing yourself too hard can really do more harm than help."

Ariane ignored Omio's comment. All travelers know that, why state the bloody obvious?. The girl looked over at Nicodemus instead, her eyes stoic. "Mm," She agreed, "We can make camp here, I'll take first watch tonight." And with that she methodically went to work to set up the camp, not interacting with anyone unless she had to. The mercenary opened her mouth to ask Helena to get some water for the fire, but then she remembered. With that memory came a slight frown; she didn't get water as she would normally have done. After getting the fire going she dug a pot and some foodstuffs from out of her pack.
"Here," Ariane tossed the items to Nicodemus, who caught them instinctively, "Take care of the cooking. I'll be back in a bit." The girl left without giving the Lemurian a chance to respond.

Omio noticed Ariane wander off and before his throat could throw a sound, he stopped. I understand, just let her be. So, in the stead of asking why, he wandered a few dozen yards away, drew his Shiden, and began swatting with it - since he couldn't in town. "No wonder I had such an easy time with this thing... It's lighter than feathers!" he let out with 3 more swats, then a fierce one - he could've sword the thing let out a slicing gust of wind on it's own. "Hrm... I'll try that later on something else."

Nicodemus went to work, taking out some of his own supplies, mainly chicken. Nicodemus was a great chef, with the proper ingredients. he'd had preferred more of everything, but he did his best, cooking the food to it's greatest and best limits. He reserved a golden-brown chicken, which looked to be the best one, for Ariane, announcing to everyone who got what, passing around the food. He placed Ariane's dinner on a large, flat boulder gently, then went to setting up his tent.

Omio wasn't one to let his plate stay full for a while. It only took about 1¼ minutes ((*sweatdrop* Maybe longer, but you get the idea.)) before the chicken he was served got inhaled. ((Figuratively, of course.))

Nicodemus finished setting up his tent just as Omio finished devouring his meal. After placing a clean cloth over Ariane's food to preserve it's heat until she returned, Nicodemus went inside his tent almost immediately, tying the several strings connecting the door flaps, since zippers weren't invented yet. He lit a small lantern he had with him, and unfolded the maps he had, pulled out several strange instruments(tools), and two old leather skinned, tattered books. He pulled out a quill and an ink bottle, stained with months of ink dripping down the sides.

Despite Nicodemus's efforts, Ariane's food got cold anyway.
Ariane was near some trees off to the side of the camp. Sweat poured from her brow as she had been practicing nonstop. She started from the basics, simple sidestep dodges and slashes. Her movements became more complex as she continued, yet none were wild. The young woman learned very quickly that saving energy while fighting was vital for survival.
The training continued. Ariane's footwork was of a complex dance; her sword moved in one continuos motion. In the past the girl would picture multiple foes in her mind's eye. Her overactive childhood imagination came in quite handy for this type of exercise.
However, this time there were no multitudes of men attacking her, no weapons to block and parry, no bodies to cut. This time, there was only one man in her mind's vision. He was on her mind the entire trek that day, how he fought. She imagined what else he could do with the powers he had at his disposal.
Her training continued, her fight continued. Large stalactites of ice rained down at her. She sliced through it, top right to bottom left. The miniscule crystals that remained dug into her skin. Ariane smelled the blood coming out of the tiny holes. She gritted her teeth as she jumped back as a pillar of ice erupted in front of her. Swinging her sword from left to right, it dug itself into the ice column. Using the momentum from the motion, Ariane lept farther than normal as a water geyser spouted up from where she once stood.
Unseen by her owner, Shippuu Yaiba's markings dimly glowed. It left a psynergetic signature in the air, noticable to any adept in the immediate area.

((O__O Good thing I'm on the other side of the camp. And also that I'm just like a normal person.)) Omio was oblivious to what Ariane was doing, but he started to patrol. Luckily for Ariane, he started on the other side first. A wolf came out and tried to jump on him to bite his neck. Thing was, he reacted with his Shiden - and rather violently, too. The blade cut through effortlessly, then a couple of air blades sliced the wolf a couple of times. "What the hell...?"

((He needs easy enemies. )) Nicodemus' quill scratched through the parchment, imbedding the ink in itself. He hummed quietly to himself, writing down the events of the past two days. As he hummed, he noticed he harmonized with something, a low hum, at a constant, steady rate. Then he felt a strange feeling within his body, like his blood seemed to speed up. He felt a wave of energy pass over him, warming him, and warning him. He came out of his tent and looked around. "I sense psynergy..." thought Nicodemus. It was very weak, coming from something with no psynergetic skills, but its origin was psynergetically powerful. He quickly looked through the few nearby trees, looked up along the cliffs, he observed everywhere in the camp, he looked back to the plains behind them, then looked back around to the trees. He spotted a thin shimmering glow swing through the air, behind the trees. He froze with fear, fearing the worst, when he realized it was Ariane swinging her blade. "Oh...whew...thank goodness. It's just Ariane." having nothing disastrous to fear, Nicodemus proceeded back into his tent, taking one last look back at Ariane, swinging her sword around. He observed the fine slashes and thrusts, as if one continuos motion. "Hmm...she's dangerous." thought Nicodemus. He sighed and entered his tent, closing the door flaps behind him. The small lantern illuminated his sihouette, scribbling with his quill.

((Precisely. As things stand - the hardest thing he could defeat is probably... a clay golem. He's feeble right now because of the fact that he's from the simplistic future. Things were made convenient for him. Now, he's out in the wilderness like it was. It's a miracle he wasn't fatally harmed.))
After slaughtering the wolf, there was yet more patrolling, yet more hardships, and yet more monsters and such to slay. Most of them seemed to be a 1 swat idea, but then with a few wolves killed and laying on the ground nearby... The ground shook a little. There was silence. The ground motioned again 2 seconds later. Omio looked as he could, but saw nothing - on a cliff, and jumping down was a golem. It nearly missed Omio by inches. Good thing he wasn't flattened there. Omio heard the rock careening past him, and turned to see the colossal thing. "Good god! This is going to be hell!" Indded it was going to be. Omio leaped, and swung as he could to the clay golem - he only took a small chunk out of the right leg of the golem. It groaned, then launched a fist at him. With a ker-schmuck, he got sent rather far back on his back. About 100 feet, roughly. After those 100 feet, he rolled to his feet, and skidded another 10. "Rrgh... That HURT!" He dashed back at that thing, jumped, and mashed at the stone mason with a thrust of his sword. The wind blades helped to remove a far bagier chunk out of the main body. The golem fell backwards, too.
"How does it feel?" The chunk of rock got up, swung its fists back, and swung forward in a crushing effort - Instead of getting crushed, Omio got driven a couple of feet into the ground. "You little--..." He cut himself off in the fury. His eye wouldn't let see anything but red. He shoved himself out of the ground, and climbed on the golem - it swung left and right to try and toss Omio off, but his footing was pretty good. He didn't fall. This is it. and with that, the golem swung back, and Omio used that beginning motion to reposition himself. The golem swung forward, and it launched Omio up a few dozen feet. This is what you get for what you've done to me. "Diving Falcon!" the wind blades then surrounded Omio, and the blades looked like a bird made of wind blades. Well, it was that way until Omio got to about 5 feet away from the golem. The bird-like wind form rushed aead, and it extended the reach of the Shiden. The sword was thrusted in the full 5 feet. Omio merely used the handle of the sword to launch himself off of the staggering Golem. The golem staggered a few times, then fell backwards when it tried to swing at Omio again. He felt the back of his head. That golem left a moderate wound on the back of Omio's head. Then his vision went blurry for a couple of seconds. Wow... I think I have to take it a tad easy for a while. No killing big things for me for a little. He pulled at his blade, and when it got out, Omio fell back from the effort, and rolled to his feet again. His vision went again for 3 seconds. And if I'm walking, I have to keep my head from turning more then 90 degrees... Good thing I learned a bit about First Aid at the Survival level before going into the past. Otherwise, I'd be wondering why my eyes are buggering up. He wandered back to the camp to notice Nicodemus out of his tent. He paused in his walking to wait for a reply before curling up in his tent to see to applying a headband - to relieve pain. "...Is something wro--" his voice died for a second. He coughed, then tried to speak again. "Sorry 'bout that, is something wrong?" He felt weak all of a sudden, but it didn't show in any way. I just hope nobody notices... ((O__O That turned out longer than I thought.))
