((I was waiting for other posts first, but fine, we'll continue now. And the sparring feild was about 200 feet from the inn, which is right next to the main entrance into the small town. Yeah.))
Nicodemus was sitting down on a large, flat rock, with one end sticking out of the ground. "Good. Now we just need Ariane to get here and we'll continue. Considering how much time we have, we'll need to camp out when night comes about, the next town is far from here, and from my maps, I see a mountain range seperates us from it. I'm sure Ariane would know where the best place to pass through the mountains is." said Nicodemus, now rolling up his rather large, very old map. "I was considering a horse, but from the tales I've heard of our road, the horse would only be able to go so far."

"I rather use my own legs then a horse," Whisper said slowly to find the right words as he laid like a cat on the ground, "where's Ariane anyway?" I'm hungry again, Whisper thought annoyed.

Omio didn't need to rest too long before getting back up. ...I'm getting weak. Blasted Psynergy spell must've taken more out me than just tempurature. Well, at least I don't have to worry about fire too much. "I didn't spot her on my dash back. Although for the last ½ of it, I could barely see in front of me." The reason for the semi-loss of sight temporarily was due to having too much blood in his legs and arms. Not his head. "I have poor blood circulation, so I get cold extremely easily. The heat never bothers me, but the cold does a lot." He was just hoping that these people knew his medical terminology.

Ariane walked up to the rest of the group, her small pack strung over her shoulder, and, oddly, not smiling. It was disturbing how her face looked like it was almost stone. Her pace slowed a small fraction as she passed through, giving Helen, Whisper, and Omio a brief glance. She didn't bother to look at Nicodemus. She called back as she continued on her brisk pace, her head looking forward, "Let's get going. I'ld like to get to the strait between Gondowan and Indra by nightfall or even into Gondowan if we can manage it." The mercenary left it unsaid that the group will also have to go a bit out of the way to cross two winding rivers that lay between them and the border as well.

She doesn't seem too happy, Helen thought as she followed Ariane with Whisper on a rope as he tried to go catch some food, she wants to travel pretty quick, Helen looked at Ariane's back and then shook her head, I probably find all this out later, and she looked if the rest came too.

Rght off of the bat, Omio got lanced at with the feeling of impatience. He irked. "Oka..." He cut himself off. He understood where the impatience came from. "... Nevermind my garble." He trailed about 40 cenimetres from the group - keeping to speed, but just staying behind. He was thinking and walking. So, Ariane lost to Nicodemus... Personally, I'm just confused. How in hades would Ariane lose? Then it dawned to him. What if Psynergy can't always be controlled? No, no. That's foolish! If you have an ability, you have control of it the whole time. He was mystified about the whole thing. He decided to accept an illogical fact. He still trailed the group. He felt... insignificant, really.

((Plot sequence! Read carefully))
Nicodemus sighed and followed, a few feet behind Ariane. Within himself, he smirked ever so slightly, completely un-noticeable. He smirked only at the knowledge that time heals all wounds, but Ariane's attitude was bothering him a lot, internally. "Everyone loses a battle in their lives. This was nothing, but it has disrupted her pride. Perhaps it's best if she's left alone." thought Nicodemus. He fell behind another couple of feet, purposely, and his head hung low. He thought deeply as, they walked. "Nicodemus...only you are available to complete this task. It will be long and difficult for you, you will recieve little support from your fellow Lemurians, as few remain to spare..." spoke a deep, wisened voice inside of his head. "Only you can reclaim what you, and what our people, have lost...but you cannot go alone. You'll need to find brave people to assist you...most likely non-adepts. You must be careful, Nicodemus. Powerful Adepts stand against you, against the world, mad with power and greed." spoke the ancient voice. Nicodemus looked up, seeing a river off in the distance, miles away. The sun was in the middle of the sky, and the day was warm. Nicodemus couldn't stand the heat, but the cold was nothing to him. "I'm deeply sorry for you, Nicodemus, the past few days must have been most un-bearable for you mostly, but all of us feel your grief. If we had known, we would never have allowed him amongst us..." Nicodemus saw images in his mind, the ships leaving the dock for the new land, the Senate House being demolished carefully, the stone being harvested for future construction projects, the Senators furious and powerless. King Hydros standing upon the bow of a Lemurian ship, along with hundreds of other Lemurian's. Then the explosion occured, as the water exploded violently in the dock, sending the ships crashing into the walls of the great cavern, their thick, mighty hulls splintering from the sheer force, the screams of men, women, and children. The drowning Lemurians, the sinking ships, the lost limbs from the impact and blast. Then him, psynergy eminating through him like fire on the sun. That one last ship, leaving the dock, empty, except for him, sailing away, giving the directions of where he was going, challenging those brave enough, or foolish enough, to pursue him. Nicodemus took the task, being the strongest next to King Hydros, who miraculously survived, with only a bruise or two. Nicodemus nearly tripped, distracting him from his thoughts. He caught himself, and stopped temporarily. He wiped his left eye, which was watering, then standing up. "I kicked dirt in my eye...watch your steps, yes?" said Nicodemus, smiling at his comrades. He walked straight now, saying no words.

Omio was the person behind by only centimetres. He though it was his foult - like great a many thing was. He turned and walked backwards. "Sorry 'bout tha--" He fell because of a stone. He rebounded with a backwards roll and resumed walking backwards again. "Sorry about that." He then turned around and rubbed his head. The impact from the fall hurt a little bit. He looked at his hand. A very small amount of blood. Nothing serious at all. He just wiped it off and kept going, trying not to think of the pain.
At least it's warm out. I haven't felt so good warmth in months! His emotion forced out a smile.

Whisper looked at Nicodemus and Omio, strange people, he thought as he walked on hands and legs further, I'm hungry, he thought, but since there was a rope around his next which Helena held, he couldn't leave to get himself some lunch, why doesn't the whole world live like the animals do, it would help the world alot, Whisper grinned and looked behind him, he was looking all sides the whole time since they walked, as he looked for something edible in range.

((the bolded "Him" is a person very important to the plot that no one knows about except for Nicodemus {I know who the character is OOC but Ariane definately doesn't}. Anyway, the characters will find out about "Him" when they meet him >:} ))
Ariane took a quick glance behind her as both Omio and Nicodemus tripped. "Careful you two," She patronized. The young woman kept walking, not seeing Nicodemus slight change in mood. Her mind was focused on what's ahead, and what she wanted to do when they got to camp. Ariane wasn't going to have her next spar end like her last one. The mercenary also kept both an ear and eye out for monsters amongst the bushes and tall grasses, knowing full well how they could appear at any moment.
