Or something of the sort. This RP starts after any of the "Between Mission" threads. For those of you unfamiliar with them, it isn't too important anyway. Quick recap of necessary information: there was a sword, broken into pieces, that we needed to find and reassemble for some long forgotten reason or another. Between finding pieces, though, we would return to Kapu's house to regroup and spend some time resting before setting off again. We have a map with the locations of the pieces marked as well.
Imagine the train as a very snazzy Hogwarts Express, except with separate cars near the back with bunk beds for long trips. There is no trolley lady, though, and it's pitch-black on the outside. Inside is Hogwarts Expressy.
After spending some time recuperating, our adventurers shake open the map and plot their next destination. To their dismay, it's rather far away and rather secluded to boot, but someone remembers that about a day's walk from Kapu's place is an old train station. No one is quite sure whether it still runs or not, but they decide to give it a shot.
The station itself is abandoned, with only a few scattered bits of trash and a quietly ticking clock to show that it was ever functional. To their surprise and gratitude, though, a black passenger car pulls in, and a well-dressed conductor quickly ushers the group it.
The cars themselves are well-furnished, with padded seats and relatively clean bedding, in addition to a dining car in the center of the convoy. The trip will take a good week, so the conductor advises (while taking payment in the form of hard currency) that you relax and enjoy the ride.
No signups because you can just pop onto the train whenever you like. Simply board at a later stop or be a previous occupant that we just haven't run into yet. The train is made of 20-odd cars with the dining car smack-dab in the middle, the engineer in the front, and the rest being passenger cars. Occupy whatever compartment you like.

Car 12
Aleu stretched herself out on a long seat, easily big enough to accommodate her frame. It was wonderful to be somewhere comfy again, even though they had left home only the day before. The seats were nice too: very posh, leather, fancy embroidery, everything.
Serene took a window seat, opening it up as the car began to move again. A bit of a breeze swept into the carriage as it started picking up speed. By the time it had reached 30mph or so the train stopped accelerating and simply cruised.
"Where's Kapu?" Serene asked after a while, eyes closed to better feel the wind whipped into the cabin. Her sister rolled over to one side, mumbling something incoherent. "Sorry?"
"Dinin' car..."

((Yay for posting after almost a month. =D))
Happily situated in the dining car, Kysho munched on some food as he completely drowned out everything happening around him. The thief hadn't eaten in what seemed like longer than forever squared, which seemed even longer to him since he couldn't do math. His pockets were empty, and he hoped he wouldn't have to pay for his meal since he used up all his funds for the ticket, which he thought was much too expensive anyways. He'd need to go pick some pockets after he got off at the next stop; it felt out of place, his loot bag so light in weight. After finishing off his chicken wing, he reached across his table to the platter and grabbed another couple. It was going to be a boring trip.
Across the aisle, Ceileuse sat with the side of his head pressed against the windowpane, his elbow propping up his chin resting in his open palm. Beside him, Ailyse prodded at a leafy salad with her fork. "You'd better hurry and eat something," she urged, gently elbowing him in the side.
He flinched slightly at her touch and glanced at her sideways. "I'm not hungry."
The two of them fell silent as the angel girl continued poking at her food. "This is a nice conversation," she dully stated, stabbing a leaf of lettuce with her fork to raise it to her open mouth.
"I'm tired," Ceileuse replied quietly with a moan. "Let me use your shoulder-"
"That didn't work out so well last time."
The manakete sighed, rolling his eyes as he went back to staring out the window at the tranquil scenery passing by, and Ailyse worked on finishing her salad.

Jukka stirred awake. The train was moving again. He sat up and looked around the empty compartment he had been sleeping in. He had boarded the train a while ago as a way to get home, but really he had no idea where it was going. Oh well, travel was fine with him as long as he his weapons. He checked his back, the quiver of throwing spears and his large spear were both strapped on. He slid the compartment door open and headed for the dining car. His stomach growled loudly. Maybe it wasn't the motion of the train that woke me up..
He reached the dining car. The smell of food hit him and made his stomach seem even emptier. He grabbed a plate and went down the buffet line, filling his plate to its max capacity. He glanced around the room and saw Ailyse sitting next to a tired looking Ceileuse. He walked over and took a seat across from them. He glanced from the tired one to the bored one. "Exciting trip, eh?"

"The most exciting thing ever," Ailyse chimed through a mouthful of greens. She paused to chew her food quickly before swallowing. Leaning back into her chair, the angel girl glanced at Jukka, her eyes falling to his plate and the pile of chicken resting on its surface. A look of disgust crossed her face, and she raised an eyebrow. "Chicken," she mused thoughtfully. "Nothing against you, of course, but I prefer not killing innocent animals to get my food."
"Don't bother arguing with her, Jukka," Ceileuse quipped, still staring out the window dully. He hadn't turned to look at him, but could tell it as Jukka from his voice. A faint smile crossed his face as he remembered previous 'conversations' about his topic with the angel girl. "She never gives in about this stuff. You'd best just let her win."
Ailyse gave her auburn haired friend a vicious poke to the shoulder before scowling darkly, finishing off the last leaves of her salad. "Chicken is disgusting."
((I love chicken. <3))

Jukka chuckled at Ailyse's sarcastic remark about the trip. There really wasn't much to do on the train, at least as far as Jukka had seen. He bent over his plate and was just about to take a large bite of his chicken Ailyse spoke in a somewhat disgusted tone. "Chicken," she mused thoughtfully. "Nothing against you, of course, but I prefer not killing innocent animals to get my food."
Jukka looked up, his mouth still open (and watering slightly) and saw that Ailyse disgust had found its way to her voice and face. Jukka set his chicken down and was going to retort when Ceileuse spoke. "Don't bother arguing with her, Jukka, she never gives in about this stuff. You'd best just let her win."
Jukka was in a good mood - normally he'd completely ignore any warning and go right ahead with his argument, but he simply nodded, smiled, and took a large bite of his chicken. Slowly the large pile of food on Jukka's plate diminished into crumbs and he sat back in his chair and sighed. "So, where's this train headed anyway? I just happened to get on at a stop cause I thought it would lead me back to home but uh.." He glanced out the window at the unfamiliar terrain. "Guess not."

"Yeah, I have no clue where we're headed," Ailyse stated, glancing past Ceileuse's hairy head to the window as they started through a tunnel. The outside scenery went dark, except for the dim lights outside. "We go where the wind takes us. Right, Cei?"
"Depends on if the wind's taking us on a direct route to scientist that studies birds," Ceileuse joked as a reference to Ailyse's wings. He received another fierce poke to the side in retaliation. "Stop poking me," he muttered defensively changing his position in the chair until his back was against the window. From the corner of his eye, he saw a familiar brunette thief walking almost proudly towards them down the aisle.
"Hey," Kysho began, stopping between Jukka and Ceileuse and Ailyse's seats. He turned to face the lavender-haired angel and held out a gloved hand expectingly. "I ate a lot. I'm broke. I need money now." She stared at him, narrowing her eyes, staying motionless. The thief sighed exasperatedly, rolling his eyes. "Please," he hissed, cringing at the sound of the word flowing rigidly from his lips.
Ailyse shook her head in disapproval. "I'm not giving you money. It's not my fault you pigged out with empty pockets. Stop being melodramatic."
"My pockets aren't really empty, I have loot. I'll pay you back after I trade it in at the next city, I promise. I even said please, you know how much I hate saying please. I never say please. Give me money," Kysho whined, shaking his open palm in front of her face. She remained silent, already annoyed enough after the first word came out of his mouth, and he sighed again, making sure it was loud. Kysho could tell her mind was set, and it wasn't worth asking Ceileuse. Ceileuse never had money. Turning to face Jukka, he kept his hand extended. "I need money. Give me some money... Please," he hissed again and fell silent, hopeful that at least someone would be generous today.

The thief Kyosho's hand was extended towards Jukka. He gave it a somewhat disapproving glare and looked up at him. Jukka knew Ailyse and Ceileuse a little at least - but he barely knew Kyosho, and here he is begging him for money. Jukka's hand made it to his pocket where he felt a thick roll of cash. "Oh damn, it seems I'm flat out broke." He said sarcastically, and giving a quick smile to the thief he turned back to Ailyse and Ceileuse.
"So, what are you so tired from Ceileuse?" Jukka said as he saw Kyosho pouting out of the corner of his eye. Ceileuse was slouched in his seat, eyes closed, but Jukka knew he was still listening to every bit of the conversation as he had been before when Ailyse had saw Jukka's plate of chicken.

Kapu listened to their conversation without much interest, except to flick a small coin at Kyosho's head when he refused to shut up. His meal was considerably more engaging. This chicken really was quite good, despite whatever Ms. Vegetarian Angel Girl said. The salad was a little limp, though. And the bread was something else, but not in a good way.
And so the meal went on, the sun began to sink outside, and the crowd began to thin. Finished, Kapu left the dining car and returned to the double bunk-bed sleeping cabin that Aleu and Serene had staked out. Aleu was nestled in a mass of bedding on one bunk, sleeping quietly. Serene had closed her window and was dozing in her seat, head dipping up and down with the motion of the train before Kapu tapped her gently. "Serene. Get to bed :<"
Shielding her eyes from the setting sun, she blinked and looked up at Kapu. "Sorry about that... I was sitting here and just..." she yawned. "Drifted off for a minute... Thanks..." She clumsily made her way to the bunk directly above her sister, murmuring something about "having a nice dream" and slumped back to sleep.
Kapu picked up a blanket from the unoccupied bunk and tossed it up on top of her, then settled himself into bed. He curled himself up and drifted off into peaceful sleep... for about three hours.
For at midnight, something rocked the train.
---
Jukka and P, you two can finish your conversation. As you can probably tell, the action starts at sunset.

((Poor Kysho and his name continuously getting misspelled. >.<))
Kysho flinched from getting knocked in the head by something hard, and he grinned in glee when he saw the coin laying on the ground beside him. "Yay for not getting kicked off the train," he mused, bending down to pick it up. Headed back for his seat, he flipped the coin once in the air with a flick of his thumb and began to quietly whistle an upbeat tune.
"Little weirdo," Ailyse muttered, folding her arms as she sunk down deeper into her seat. She glanced back to Kapu and gave him a short wave. "Thanks," she shouted above the clamor of the train before he left.
Ceileuse, still laying lazily against the window looked to Jukka after his question. He opened his mouth to reply, but instead of words, a yawn erupted out of his mouth, and he swiftly raised a hand to cover it. "I don't really know," the manakete replied during his yawn and paused as it faded away. He raised his eyebrows and shook his head, retaliating from the long yawn and regained his composure before continuing. "We pulled an all-nighter last night just trying to find the train station to make sure we'd catch it before it left 'cause, you know, we're absolutely horrid with directions. But somehow this girl's still the most peppy thing today."
"Sleeping's for quitters," Ailyse declared between them, clearly much more awake than the redhead.
"But yeah," Ceileuse continued, ignoring Ailyse's comment. "We'd better head back to our cabin, or I'm sure I'm gonna fall asleep right here."

Jukka chuckled at Ailyse. She felt pretty strongly about all her viewpoints, from sleeping to eating meat. He got up and stretched. He had woken up not very long ago, but the sun was setting outside and he was beginning to feel tired again - he hadn't slept much the night before anyway. He turned to the two, who were also getting up. "Yeah, I think I'll be off to mine too. See ya guys tomorrow." Jukka headed for the same cabin he woke up in earlier. Jukka loved adventure and all, but it really was nice to just relax for a couple days too. He slid his compartment door open, and shut it behind him, clicking the lock along with it. He hated when people barged in uninvited.
His cabin was just as he left it, blankets were thrown everywhere - apparently he had tossed and turned a lot while he was sleeping earlier. He put them all back on the bottom bunk, then took off his large spear and quiver of throwing spears from his back and set them across from the bunk. He went over to shut the blinds on his window, watching the shadowed land fly by as the top half of the sun began sinking below the horizon. He closed the blinds happily - he'd be perfectly content soon, full of food, rest, comfort, and feeling like adventure again soon. With that last though in his head, he crawled underneath the blankets on the bunk and fell asleep for the night.

The train shook with the force of the impact, knocking over people, smaller packs of luggage, and dishes from the dining car. Serene rocked a little and roused herself, stepping down the ladder with a yawn. "Are we there yet?"
"I don't think so o-o." Aleu reached out and grabbed onto Serene's arm to help herself up. "We're still moving, and most train rides I've been on don't end with a crash." Another resounding boom shook the carriage, prompting Aleu to sweep her sword off of the ground and tie it on. "I'm coming, I'm coming."
Kapu curled tighter in his bed. "Try not to die. Let me know if you need a hand. Otherwise I'll be sleeping." Aleu threw a pillow onto him to shut up him, while Serene waved to her from the window. "Aleu, Aleu, come look at this!"
Straight in front of them was the moon, hanging full in the sky and monstrously huge. Some kind of black shadow ripped in front of them, making Serene turn her eyes away, downward. She saw the ocean twinkling and sparkling at them, looking bright and beautiful until she realized there was no water in this ocean. It was a sea, yes. A sea of stars.
Panicking for a moment, Serene stared at the tracks and let her gaze travel down the support beams, which faded into nothingness as it stretched through the starry field. Oh crap.
Aleu stepped towards the window, joining her pale sister as soon as another explosion rocked the train. This time, though, they saw where it came from: outside, flaming red comets were bursting in midair (space?). The ones that exploded near the train were causing the shaking, though the train and track didn't seem to have been any worse off for it.
The door slammed open. "Good, someone's alive on here." A man dressed in blue and white uniform with a circular hat (both marked by some kind of emblem) atop his head shut the door behind him, brandishing a longsword in one hand. "My name is David," he said, hair falling out from under his hat to brush over an eye. He pushed it away. "You're the only others I've found on here, but I haven't been to the cars behind yours. Care to come search with me?"
They braced themselves against another impact. "I think that'd be best," Aleu said, making her way gingerly towards Kapu to wake him up. "Oy. Rise and shine, let's get going." Kapu grumbled a little, rolling sideways and thumping to the floor.
"Come." David knocked on the next door, (Jukka or Presea? Hmm...) and opened it. "Hello?"

((I BEAT THE JUKKA))
Ceileuse jerked an eye open tiredly as he laid in his bunk. His eye drifted to the open door and the faint, blurry image of someone standing there. "Jeez, I just fell asleep and someone bursts through the door. Ailyse, didn't I tell you to lock it?"
A quiet half snort-half snore came from the girl on the bunk above him, and the redhead felt the whole bunk bed shake as she rolled over to face the wall. Ceileuse waited for a reply from her, but she stayed silent, and he assumed she was still asleep. Yeah, sleeping was so for quitters. "What's going on?" he asked David as he sat up groggily in his bed, running a hand through his mussed up auburn hair. "Oh, let me guess, some comets are flying around outside and making the train shake, right?" he joked, raising an eyebrow.

"You'd be mostly right, but they're more like meteors. Come, up up up we have get everyone together." David brushed at the hair over his eye again. "Comets are cold, meteors are hot. And if you look outside, these are hot." A particularly violet explosion blasted through the compartment, throwing David onto the ground and Serene against the seats.
"On second thought, go on back to the cabin," David told Serene. "Try to get everything mobile secured so we can use it as a meeting place. You two, come on with me and we'll keep looking."

Ceileuse blinked confusedly at David's words; he hadn't expected to be right, after all. "I'll be there in a second. 'Lyse," he began, tiredly raising his right hand to gently press against the bunk above him with his palm, "get up, seriously. Don't make me come up there." While waiting for a response, Ceileuse made his way to the edge of the bed, letting his feet hang over the side as he reached down to pick his wrinkled, scarlet jacket off the ground. From above, all he heard was silence, and he stood up, slipping his jacket on. He strenuously flapped his wings a few times, hovering up to her bunk. "Get up," he repeated, tapping her head.
"Don'ttouchme," Ailyse slurred, lazily swatting his hand away. "Tryingtosleep..."
Annoyed, Ceileuse firmly took hold of her upper arms and began to drag her out of the bed. He got her upper body off when her eyes cracked open and a panicked look came over her face. "What are you doing?!" she shrieked, her wings shooting out from between them, "Put me down, put me down!" Flustered by her fidgeting, Ceileuse released her, and she clung to the bunk with her hands, managing to crawl back on. "What, are you trying to kill me or something?!"
"I said you gotta get up..." he muttered, folding his arms as she began to make her way down the ladder. When she reached the floor, she began to dust off her skirt before turning to face him with a frown.
"Doesn't mean you have to pull me off," she replied under her breath when her eyes fell on David. "...Who're you? What are you doing here?"
"Come on," Ceileuse interrupted, grabbing Ailyse's arm with a slight roll of his eyes. He began to pull her with him, headed outside towards David.

((sorry again about the lateness, but im here now : ) Jukka was sound asleep. His compartment was the perfect temperature. He was snuggled under some blankets, mouth open and drooling slightly. A distant shake from the far end of the train. Jukka simply turned over in his blankets. A gigantic explosion right outside the window of his compartment - Jukka went flying across the small room, his back slamming into the opposite wall. His eyes shot open in time to see the glass from the window come raining down onto the floor. What the..? He struggled to his feet, accidentally cutting his hand on a shard of glass. "Dammit!" He ripped off a piece of cloth from his shirt and wrapped it around his hand, then went to the broken window. Outside his eyes met stars...but he wasn't looking up..he was looking down. And yet, he saw stars. He ducked for cover as a nearby meteor rocked the train a few cars down. Bewildered, he grabbed his quiver of spears and strapped them onto his back. Grabbing his large spear, he took another quick look out the window. Just where was this train headed?? He was going to find out. He walked to his door, unclicked the lock and opened the door.
