Ariane practically choked on hers. "What? No crew? You expect me to believe that you sailed that large of a ship all by yourself? And who is this 'King' of yours? I've been around and the closest ruler to a king is Lord Iodem of Tolbi!" She just stared at Nicodemus, worried that his might have lost a few marbles. But he did have that ship, and what sort of man could have a ship that large and grand...?

Nicodemus smiled slyly. "You did'nt notice? It's a Lemurian ship. I am a Mercury Adept, sent from King Hydros of Lemuria. I could have sworn Lemuria's name would have traveled far by now due to dear Piers and his companions, but obviously not." Nicodemus put his arm out at his cup of juice. "Frost!" Then, several snow flakes fell into the juice, and miraculously froze the juice in his mug, which became coated in frost shortly afterward. "Does this frighten you? I mean it in no bad way at all. Trust me."

"Le... Lemuria?" Ariane stammered, confused. She stared into the cup, her face a half inch away from its rim. Her puzzled look grew when she slowly turned it upside down, nothing fell. She took out a knife and poked at the juice. It was solid. It was FROZEN. Ariane put the cup down. She blinked dumbfounded at the cup, then at Nicodemus, then at the cup again. After a minute or so she finally found her voice. "How did you do that?" She asked, her tone quiet, but not scared.

"Psynergy. Surely, you've heard of it? It is also my psynergy that completely controls my ship, therefore I need no crew. We Lemurian's also posses a longer life, due to some break in the time period in the mists in the center of the sea, which surround Lemuria like a dome. But, it the power of psynergy that I used. Psynergy is the power, of nature." said Nicodemus.

Ariane tilted her head, staring at Nicodemus while he explained. It didn't really clear anything up for her. Psynergy? Mercury Adept? "I'm sorry," she said quietly, "I still don't quite understand, but I have never heard of this 'Psynergy' nor met anyone who uses it." Ariane placed her head in her hand, "I guess it's a little much to take in." After a moment she shook her head, trying to clear it, and sighed. She'll deal with what he was and the powers he possessed later.
"You said you were going to Champa, right? Do you know the way? By land I mean," Ariane asked, directly looking him in the eyes, her confused look no longer there. Physically anyway.

"Well, I have these two maps." Said Nicodemus. He unrolled the large scrolls on the table. The map was huge, the words tiny and in an ancient language, the ink smudged over the years. "This map gives me landmarks. And I have a compass and an astrolabe." Said Nicodemus, smiling. He thought about it for a second, then frowned. "It's going to be tough..."

Ariane made a low whistle, "That's an old map. Here."
She takes out a few of her own. They were not quite as ancient as the one the adept had, and they were in a language that both could read. The first one was of the continents of Osenia, Indra, and the southern part of Gondowan. She pointed at the point marked Alhafra.
"This is where we are now. If you want to go to Champa by land, first you'll come to the town of Madra on the Indra continent, the quickest route is staying along the coast," Ariane pointed out the route as she went along, "Then we'll need to cross the southern half of Indra and into Gondowan. We'll come up Gondowan, passing over the Kibombo Mountains and crossing this large river here on the east side."
Here Ariane stopped to bring out another map, this one being of northern Gondowan and the southwestern part of Angara. She continued, "Our next obstical will be the Suhalla desert. We'll continue to travel north, into Angara right near the city of Tolbi. Then we'll need to cross the Karagol Sea by boat. Although I have heard of a cave south of the Karagol that by passes it, I have also heard that everyone who has tried to go through cave never made it through. After the Karagol, we'll reach Kalay."
Here Ariane brought out her final map, this one being of almost all of Angara. The only part that was cut-off was what was north of Bilibin. Ariane took a moment to catch her breath before she continued on to the final part, "After that we'll go east of Kalay, we'll go east and then south of the Lamakan Desert. We'll cross this river here and then..." Ariane tapped her finger on a town dot on the southern coast of Anagara, "We'll be in Champa." Ariane leaned back in her chair, taking the rest of her juice and draining it in one gulp.
"Although that is the most direct route I can come up with, we probably would need to take a couple of detours for supplies and whatnot, especially in the first half. Personally, I'ld like to stop off in Lalivero before we head into the Suhalla. I had to travel with some warriors from Tolbi the last time I went through," Ariane's mind went to the trip, what would be needed and what things to expect.

OOC: I know which map your using...
IC: "Hm, yes, I suppose we could go to Lalivero, then just turn around and pass through the desert. It was one of my original landing zones, but the harbor was destroyed and they have'nt rebuilt it. If not, I would have sailed into Lalivero and went to Champa from there." said Nicodemus. "...Hey, wait a minute, what do you mean 'we'?!" asked Nicodemus, surprised.

Ariane just stared at the man, one eyebrow raised. She leaned forward towards him, their bodies almost too close for comfort. "We, as in, the two of us," She pointed to the Lemurian and herself with her right hand. Nicodemus couldn't see what she was going with the left. Ariane leaned back into her chair, "Like the hell I'm going to let you go by yourself, your going to need a guide. Simple as that."
((mwahaha Ariane gets to have a little fun now messing with Nicodemus *mischevious look* note: it invovled what she was doing with her left hand.))

(( His money is in his back pocket, by the way, so her purse will have to weigh the same. What the heck were you doing though? ))
Nicodemus thought about it for a few seconds. "Very well, you may come along. You better not die on me though." said Nicodemus, standing up. "Now, I'm going to pay the rent. You can wait here if you wish." He nodded at her and walked for the door.

"Die on you? Pfff! The only part of the journy I haven't been on is going into Champa, all the other places I mentioned I've been," Ariane smiled as the Lemurian left, this was going to be some adventure. As soon as Nicodemus was out of sight, Ariane took out what she stole. She just grabed some random object in his bag. The black crystal orb glittered in her hand. It was a lot heavier than it looked. She only stole when she needed to, but Ariane was only doing this for fun. She would give it back, she just wondered how long it will take for him to miss it. Ariane stuck the orb back into an inside pocket. She took out a slip of paper and wrote down the supplies they would need for their trip, rations etc. and places they could stop off to resupply.

"Very well. For nbow, the standing amount is 150 gold coins. If I return before then, I'll expect my refund for the excess." said Nicodemus, dropping a bag heavy with coins on a table in the ports main office. "Hm...yup, it weigh's correctly. You be careful on whatever trip your goin' on, otherwise that ship will stay thar for quite a while." said the hefty man at the front desk. "Understood. I'll be back, eventually." said Nicodemus, walking out of the room. He walked down the street back into the Inn at the edge of town. He saw Ariane and walked over to her. "Okay, that's set. ...What are you writing?" he asked.

Ariane just showed him the list, "Just things we'll need along the way and places to stop off at if we needed to." She got up from the table and leaned against it, "So is everything squared away?"

"Yes, everything is prepared. Lets buy these supplies, well, some of them. I have mostly everything we need, but we'll buy extra due to the added person..." said Nicodemus, taking the list and studying it. "When will you be ready to leave? I can go now, but we need your supplies. Anything else you must do?"

Ariane stopped mid stretch as she looked at Nicodemus, she expected him to say something like spend the night and leave in the morning or something similar. "Nothing really, I was actually looking for work before I met you." She finished her little stretch and got her things together. She drew her sword out about an inch and then let it fall back, making sure it didn't click in place so she could draw it out quickly. It was out of habit, she didn't plan on having to fight anything until they were on the road.
