Amaro inclined his head towards Genis, "So you're one of adventurers who finally got rid of that idiot. Well met, well met. I am Amaro. Lifetime companion to Shiori, who is somewhere around here. She used to be part of Cruxis but left awhile ago. Long before your elvish parent was even a thought, perhaps even grandparents." The kitsune sat up on the branch and stretched. "Well I'm going to try and find out where Shiori flew off to. See you later, Ari, Genis!" Amaro scratched his ear with his back foot before he jumped down from the tree and ran off.

They made small chatter for a while, before Aleu finally pushed Kapu out the door. "I'm getting dressed, no peeking or I'll thump you." Not mention trying this little bugger out, Aleu added silently, grinning evilly at the closed door. When she heard the latch click, Aleu thrust both hands into the air, and the world was plunged into... well, blueness. A heavy shroud of dark blue-ness was overlaid on top of everything, and everything felt very still. Aleu looked outside and grinned with satisfaction. There was Amaro, jumping to the ground. Very, very slowly. Excellent. Of course, she didn't move slowly. What would be in the point if she got stuck in the cosmic molassass pit too? Quickly she picked up her day clothes, shucked her nightgown (with a hiss of pain as it rubbed against the still-sore wound), and pulled on the new set of garments (wincing again). Outside, Kapu carefully shut the door, and before he head the soft 'click,' the door opened again, and Aleu stood there in a new set of clothes. " ;;" said Kapu. Aleu laughed and patted him on the back. This had potential. ------------------------ "Auntie Ariiiiiiiiiiii~!!!" A grey missle shot from the depths of the kitchen out into the lawn and up the tree. THUNK. Kara overshot her favorite non-family member in the world, tumbled off the branch, and hit her head on the ground. "Ow..." she groaned.

Ari blinked several times, before crying out and dashing down the tree. "Kara! My, my, that was quite a fall. Are you alright, dear?" She made her way to the small furball, reaching out to pick Kara up, patting her head softly. "Anything broken?"

Kara looked up at Ari and snugged happily into her arms. "Nothing's broken, Auntie. I'm A-OK." She writhed a bit and put her muzzle into the crook of Ari's arm. "Yay."
Kapu padded outside, noting without surprise the bruise on his daughter's head, followed shortly by Aleu, wearing her new jacket. Silver, having gotten the art of sewing, knitting, and other kinds of handy needlework down to a science, had gone a bit stich-happy and was making clothes for everyone. Aleu's was a yellow, soft and slightly fluffy topcoat, with a white trim and blue borders, light and with two slits running from the waist down to the hem in the back on both sides, for her sword. Kapu's was dark blue and identical in everything but color. He didn't like to wear it much.

"That's good. I'm glad you're alright," Ari replied, snuggling the pup, while tenderly rubbing the bump on her forehead. "You should be more careful."
The half-elf peered up to see Aleu and Kapu plodding around outside. "Hey guys! Nice jacket, 'leu. Yellow suits your complexion well. Don't you have one too, Kapu?"

Kara lapped up the attention the way small children will do. "Nyaaa... I'm happy to be back with you, Auntie," she said happily, snuggling deeper into her arms.
"I like yellow," Aleu said, smiling. When she saw Kara, though, she looked surprised. "That thing's glued to you, isn't she?" she said, part shocked and part "aww."
Kapu's head drooped. "I've... got one too," he muttered, scuffing the ground with a foot. "I just don't like to wear it much."

Ari scratched behind Kara's gray ears, while tilting her head to the side at Kapu's comment. "Come on... you should put it on! That looks like Silver's work and you know how much she likes you to wear her stuff."

Kapu sighed. "But... Fine, fine, I give in." He turned around and stalked back into the house, emerging about five minutes later with a snazzy navy-colored jacket, identical to Aleu's but with white and gold trim.
"I think it looks nice on you, bro," Aleu said, looking him over. "Better than that other shirt you always wear."
"But I like that shirt."

Ari laughed at Kapu's grim reaction. "But it's a cute jacket... why do you hate it so much? Because your wife made it?" She stood up from her cross-legged position from the ground with Kara cradled in one arm, walking up to Kapu. "It looks nice on you." Reaching out to touch the collar and straightening it a bit, she added. "Maybe you'll finally live up to your name, Kapugen."
It was just a simple joke, but Ari knew Kapu well. She was prepared to run should he attack. XD

"Well, that's part of the reason," he said, watching Ari play with the collar. "But it's, you know... what did you call me?" Aleu blinked and took a careful step back. The world dropped back into blueness, and she ran for it before Kapu blew.
All Ari saw was Aleu winking out of sight. Kapu looked furious. His new weapon (having lost his old spear in the fray where Aleu was injured), a heavy-looking fan made of metal, slid out from his pocket and into his hand, where it rested, quivering. The blades flicked out and in as he tried to debate with himself over his rising anger.
KILL HER!! said one side.
But she's Ari! the other said defensively.
SHE CALLED YOU THE NAME. The agressive side seemed... well, agressive.
But she's ARI! Nice Kapu tried one last time...
Kapugen.
SHUT UP! ... and lost.
Aleu looked out of her window, holding a rock in her hand. If worst came to worst, it was nighty-time for her little brother. There was nothing that got onto his nerves more than his real name. You could have two people, one who just killed his entire family, and the other who called him "Kapugen," and he'd kill the second one first.

Ari foresaw this and had taken to racing across the lawn, Kara still in her arms. She giggled as she dashed as quickly as her legs could carry her. Ticking Kapu off was probably not the best idea, but hey! In her defense, she needed some exercise and a bit of action. The whole "let's be lazy" business bored her to death.
Hey Kara, the half-elf called to the carried pup mentally, as to not waste breath. Where should we lead this chase?

"I wonder how long before Kapu catches her." Kriven said to himself, coming back to the group. He threw his mace up, at first intending to catch it, then realising how incredibly stupid this was and he dove out of the way, the mace hitting the ground heavily and digging a hole.

Amaro then appeared beside Ari, many times his usual size, "Need a lift?" He asked as he expertly swished Ari and Kara up on his back. The kitsune, now half as much taller than Noishe and twice in bulk, then ran off with his passengers and was gone in a flash.
A minute or so, and a few miles, later the trio found themselves at a peaceful pond where an angel practiced with her throwing daggers. Shiori also had a new look. She had her hair down, although she still had braides scattered throughout her hair. She wore a black, sleeveless top under her long purple trenchcoat with the shoulders cut out. Her black skirt with blue trim reached her knees. The girl tossed another dagger at her enflamed target, freezing it solid. Shiori turned as she heard Amaro approach.
"Oh! Hello guys! What are you guys doing here?" Shiori flipped her hair over her shoulder as she addressed the trio.

Post by Moses Sandor on Aug 2, 2006 19:14:07 GMT -6
Moses Sandor, beast tamer and bandit cheif, was wandering around this fine day. He had no set home, and wandered the world, usually far ahead of his bandit tribe. With him as always was his Galf, Giet.
((A Galf is pretty much a wolf)
Giet always traveled with him, and they had been together for ages. "Giet, The air here is so clean. Dont you think?" Giet replied with a simple <woof>. Moses raised his headup and inhaled deaply. Suddenly his eyes sprang wide open. "Giet! You smellin' it?" Giet Started panting. *sniff**sniff* Moses sniffed the air one last time. /me Someones cooking bacon!. Moses took off running, with Giet directly behind him. Moses hadn't had a meal like bacon i quite a while. Normally he ate whatever he could kill. As the scent got stronger, he saw a house approaching fast. He paid no mind too it though, as he was hungry, and we all know the way to a mans heart is through his stomach.
As he ran into the clearing, he saw the pan full of bacon. Giet dashed in front of him and plowed the pan off of the fire, flipping the bacon into the air. As Giet went to grab a piece out of mid-air, Moses plowed into him. "Giet, thats mine!" He tangled with Giet on the ground for a moment, when Giet jumped up. Moses, without thinking about it, went to grab the bacon. As he stood up he heard Giet growling. "Com' on giet! First come, first serve!" Suddenly he looked up to a bunch of people, with weapons, staring at him mencingly and awkwardly. Moses took a step back towards Giet. "Um, uh..." Moses stamered, looking around at all the people. "Um... Who are you?"

Kapu took off in a flash of flying paws and gray fur. He lost sight of the trio after a while, but the scent was still strong. He'd find them soon.
Aleu finally came out of the window just in time to see a gray streak move towards the bacon. That's not Kapu, she thought, watching bemusedly as the newcomer looked around, his expression panicky. "Who are you?"
She decided to give him a little scare; hopefully he'd need a new pair of pants afterwards. The world dipped back into shades of dark blue, and she walked towards Moses, drawing her sword in a single, fluid motion. It was kinda cool how the sound of her drawing the weapon didn't reach her ears until after she had taken a position behind him, sword touching his neck and blue haze disappated.
"The owner of the bacon you just swiped," Aleu growled, fighting the urge to giggle.
------
Kapu flicked out the blades of the fan, looking for Ari. The fan had longer tines on the ends, and they were blunted at the top and sides. There was a latch that would come undone if Kapu opened the fan; it was mainly there so the blades didn't come out at an inconvenient time, like in his pockets. The inside was made up of a number of very sharp, shorter edges, which could, with a bit of magical tweaking and enough forward momentum, shoot straight out of the fan. Since the longer blunt parts of the fan were at the end, the fan couldn't cut when closed. When open, it could strikes with the blunted sides or with the sharper centerpart. A very nice weapon indeed.
"ARI!"
