(Kriven's a guy, another future reminder.)
"...so....you killed someone....with chicken...Are you one of those evil people that don't die?"

Aleu shook her head. "Nah, I'm just used to the stuff. I didn't eat any of it either." She shrugged. "But that day, I learned a valuable lesson. Arsenic is not a spice."

Cyrus carefully pushes his plate away from him and stands. "Uhm... I think I'll skip eating, thanks. If I get hungry, I still have the jerky and my sandwich..." He heads outside, then gathers the wind beneath him and boostjumps himself up onto the roof. He stretches out and takes a rest, looking up at the first stars as the sun sets.

"See? He must know you, he was ready for an emergency eating."

Aleu winced. "You're all so mean." Her voice had a playful tone to it though, erasing any hard feelings generated by her not-so-nice words.

"Yes for my name is Mr.McMean." Kriven said, standing up and raising a finger important-like.

((Sorry, guys... I've been brain-dead for the past few weeks... not that it's changed.))
Arynielle slowly opened her eyes. Sleep was taking ahold of the half-elf and seeing as she was in a tree, falling asleep was certainly not the best of solutions. She had missed dinner with the friendly group for her own reasons. The chat with Kapu earlier had plucked a few sensitive chords and the girl wanted to be alone. My parents... she thought. I wonder what they were like. Ari shifted on the branch, stretching the rest of her body out, while leaning against the thick trunk. Being in the mist of nature was relaxing for the half-elf, especially in stressful situations, when her mind felt the urge to explode.
An owl hooted softly as it awoke, about to begin its nocturnal trek for food. Ari peered up among the branches, watching the graceful bird of prey stretch out its magnificent wings and glide through the air, far into the distance. It must be so relaxing to fly... Her stomach growled. "Don't betray me now..." Arynielle said, not wanting to go inside, no matter how hungry she was. She decided to ignore her stomach's pleas for food and made herself more comfortable, admiring the nature before her.

With a soft FOOMF, he boostjumps over to another tree, then climbs over cautiously to see what it was. "Ari? Oh... hi." The quarter-elf, nerves sated, takes a seat on a nearby branch. "What're you doing up here?" -f0n9

"Hello, Cyrus," Arynielle stated monotonously. She was growing more tired by the second. "Why am I up here? I don't know. I need some air." She took a deep breath and sighed. "Some how I think that nature soothes the nerves better than anything else. None of that fancy medical stuff tends to help me when I'm stressed."
Ari turned to face Cyrus, letting her legs dangle from the high tree branch. "May I ask you the same question?"

Ari turned to face Cyrus, letting her legs dangle from the high tree branch. "May I ask you the same question?" "Me? ...well, it was originally because I didn't wanna get poisoned... Aleu can't exactly cook well. But why did I stay out here? I guess it was because I needed to think. I just lost my home... I needed some time to mull that over, let it sink in... figure out what I do now. There's no town left, no orphans to take care of or rich snobs to steal from. I have nothing left to do." "What will you do now? You didn't live there, you don't care. You'll just go back to your mission, then go home to the people you know. But what do I do once this is done?" -f0n9

"Go home?" Arynielle was surprised at his words. Wow... people are worse off then I thought... "I suppose that I could go back to Exire. That is-- if I really wanted to." She peered up towards the higher branchds of the trees, searching for any faintest trace of the emerging stars. "There are people there who I know-- friends and of course the elder, who had taken me in."
Ari paused for a second, wondering if she had given away too much. Oh well, what happens, happens. "But... I don't want to go back. Although there are good memories in Exire, I've always felt like a prisoner in my own home. That's the reason why I left-- I couldn't take it anymore. I need my freedom."
A cricket chirped in the moment's silence. "And this adventure has offered me more than I could ever hope for. I've discovered new friends and explored different places. I can't go back to Exire now that I've expirenced all of this! It's wonderful!"
"Besides all of that, I'm also out here to do what you might call 'soul searching.' Sometimes, I feel like I don't know who I am anymore-- that my life has no purpose. I mean, isn't that what everyone wants? To discover their means of existance? I know it's what I desire most."

"Yeah... I guess I'm stuck doing the same thing you are, now. I think I need to do some soul-searching. Find out what I'm supposed to do with the rest of my life. I'm kinda lucky, I guess... I'm only 16, I still have the rest of my life ahead of me to figure out what to do with it. ...Mind if I travel with you? Both of us look for a purpose?"
EDIT: Gah, forgot to close quotes...

Arynielle smiled. "Of course. I think I'd like that." She adjusted herself slightly. "Although, I think that my stomach's going to wage a war against me, if I don't get something to eat. It's been a rough day, and I'm starving." The half-elf slipped out of the tree, landing on the ground. Ari looked up at where Cyrus was sitting. "Aleu and Kapu probably have something in the kitchen. You coming?"

You coming?" Cyrus sweatdrops, looking down at her nervously. "Uhm... trust me, you don't want any of Aleu's food. I have a sandwich if you're that hungry... here." He jumps down and hands her a meat-and-lettuce sandwich wrapped in brown paper. "I already ate." -f0n9
