If you can't read the character above, you need to install East Asian Fonts. xD Google how to do it. It's the kanji for "Harbour."
This is going to be mainly a practice RP, in preparation for summer. I need to get back into the grooove, so this is for anyone else who also feels out of practice
A bit of background, if anyone cares. If not, just skip down a paragraph.
This is set near the country of Esmira, a moderately powerful state at the north border of the Mirror Sea*. It's a beautiful country, home to incredibly large flatlands that run for many grassy miles in all directions, broken only by the occasional brook or rivulet. To the north lies Tren, a neighbor whose non-aggression was bought with a peace treaty some ten years prior. The Russian Republic, a heavily democratic nation with a laissez-faire market, forms its eastern border along with the English Empire, a fragmented yet massive collection of small states to the southeast. The western edge of the country is defined by a high mountain range. On the other side lies the small, decrepit country of France, whose economy and social structure, after multiple revolutions, finally collapsed into a small, smouldering pile. Its neighbor to the south, Malmara, is looking to annex the nation soon.
Yet all that is not important! The Chief Minister to the Throne of Esmira, the Cardinal Armand Jean du Plessis de Richelieu, has his mind set on keeping England in pieces, for Esmira's safety would be in jeopardy were such a large nation to become able to concentrate its forces. As members of the Esmiran Royal Army, or mercenaries, you have been dispatched to sabotage a meeting of important leaders in the city of Exeter. You are to disrupt the meeting but not take the life of any of the attending members. They are likely to have bodyguards, in addition to the city militia, all of which are permissible to kill. You are to avoid capture at all costs.
The RP begins when your characters dock in the harbor at Dover* in the dead of night.
A few rules: This takes place in a steampunk* kind of setting, so please recognize what kind of technology you'll be likely to encounter, and vice versa. Your characters do have access to magic, and powerful magic at that: the Esmiran capital is the center of magical research on this side of the globe. Permissible weapons include pretty much any melee weapon you can think of. In terms of ranged weaponry, archaic bows and throwing weapons, and no firearms more sophisticated than maybe a six-shot revolver. Cannons have been developed though.
Just post what character you're going to use here if you've already registered it officially, otherwise post a small profile similar to the official form.

* The Mirror Sea is a large, colon-shaped sea whose northern border defines Esmira's southern boundary. Its name comes from the surprisingly low (and thus far, unexplained) levels of impurities and dissolved oxygen in the water, causing it to freeze perfectly clear in the winter. However, the lack of oxygen makes inhospitable for life. You won't find any fish here.
* Dover is both a harbor for airships and naval vessels. You arrived by sea, but keep this in mind. It may come in handy later.
* Steampunk refers to the genre in which most machinations are still powered by steam, yet high-tech developments, such as airships, have been developed.
* Each country does have its own native language. However, as England is the cultural hub of sorts (Specifically Lancaster, who controls the south straights that lead out of the Mirror Sea. It charges a heavy tax on boats moving through, but for countries such as Esmira, there is no other way to the ocean. Subsequently, Lancaster is very, very rich.), the lingua franca (and for our purposes, the language primarily used) is considered English. However, your RP character can and should drop a few phrases in their native tongue should they so please. But seeing as I haven't really built a repository of words in Esmiran, yet... ><
* This does mean, however, that most people in England speak English, yet most of them don't understand Esmiran. You may come across a few learned people, though, so beware. ^^
* However, since it is England, you are all required to use British spelling.
* Colour.
