Ever read the Wild Magic series? I loosely based them off the Stormwings. They're like birds that got stretched taller. They have the bird's basic body (hollow bones, feathers, wings, talons, etc), but in a somewhat humanoid shape (save the wings). The face is humanoid, but with a hooked beak instead of a nose and mouth. No facial hair. Instead of hair, they have feathers all over their bodies; each Phenician has a distinctive way they grow and color their crownfeathers, much like we have hairstyles. Some also choose to color their body feathers; most simply stay with the style they're born with.
Instead of feet they have clawed talons; they color their talons with paints if they feel like it (much like nailpolish), but it's mostly a female thing. The front talon is always left clean, though... that's the one they dip in ink to write with.
Their legs are long and reverse-jointed, like a bird's; they're the only part that isn't feathered. The skin is coarse and rough, like bird feet. The muscles are usually fairly weak, since most of their travel is done by air.
Wingspan of a Phenician is about nine feet for a five-foot tall bird. They are capable of bearing a pretty heavy load; one could probably haul another human if they wanted to, but it'd leave them pretty tired in the end.
Otherwise... think giant bird fused with human general shape. Questions?

Sorta... same imagery, different concept. If it helps you visualize, then go for it.

Close. Crownfeathers usually don't fall like that; they usually fall backward or stand up, depending on what length they are maintained at. The shoulders are more swept back, so the wings fold across their back when they relax them. The plumage in most cases is varying colors of gold; Leysra is one of the few exceptions, for reasons you will learn later. Otherwise, it's perfect.

awsome. I'll remember that. I just like having 'hairdues' (feathers or not) to fall around the face and stuff (just me). Thus implies that when I first saw Lloyd Irving I thought he looked kinda dumb...*cough*

But amazingly Cloud looks good with it. I think it's because he has bangs.

That could be it. I wouldn't know myself, but... then again, I'm rather stupid, so there you go.

Sure, bangs look good on other people, but not me. I happen to like my bang-less look. Before I had let my bangs grow out, I was often called "doll" by my fellow peers. Yeesh!

Is being called doll a bad thing? o.o
