"How long ago it happened changes depending on where you go. Some say it happened a hundred years ago, others say it happened a thousand years ago, some longer. Some shorter. You occasionally get a Trip crackpot claiming it happens every day. I personally don't give a rat's ass when it happened. All I know is that the Great Reshaping is why I'm still alive today." - Anonymous Abnorm.
The Great Reshaping shook the land and shockwaved out like a nuclear bomb, and spread across the entire earth. Some of those who survived woke up with strange abilities. Some of those woke up insane. Others woke up just as normal as they had been previously.
The animals were just as affected. Some woke up as humans, a small amount of which had abilities of their own. Others awoke as fierce, vicious monsters, the Beasts. In this world, there are five classifications of a person:
The Norms - A Norm is a person with no ability or enhancment. Norms typically remain in cities, but those who travel for any reason protect themselves in the old fashioned way: with guns and melee weapons.
The Abnorms - People who have special powers or abilities. These range from things like generating lightning, or being able to fly, to super-strength of varying degrees. Some Abnorms have powers so minute that they, and the people around them, don't even realize it.
The Trips - Trips have powers, like the Abnorms. Their powers tend to be much stronger than Abnorm powers. However, the power drives the Trip insane in one way or another. The stronger the power, the stronger the illness. Many Trips can still function semi-normally, however. It has also been recently documented that a Trip's illness will always be directly related to whatever their power is.
The Modded - Of course there would be Norms who were jealous of the Abnorm's abilities. As technology grew selectively, they developed injections and chips and robotic parts that they could use to emulate the abilities of the Abnorms, or even grant abiltiies that only they can have. Modded are highly accepted in high-tech societies, but are often regarded strangely in low-tech villiages.
The Anthros - Animals who gained humanlike qualities and speech are called Anthros. They retain any sort of quality from their animal counterparts, and some even exist who can use Abnorm-like powers, though these are few, and their powers are usually quite weak. After generations of breeding with humans, some Anthros have lacking qualities, and look much less animal-like than their ancestors. Some Anthros are also jealous of the Abnorms and become Modded as well, though this often means that they have to sacrifice a part of their animalistic abilities to do so.
Much of the land is still barren and desloate from the Great Reshaping, however there are now parts of flourishing flaura and fauna that exist. These are usually around the Cybernetic Centers of the world. Away from these technilogical hubs, however, many towns and villages are small, dusty places with little to no technology at all, and they all have varying standards and customs.(Such as some will absolutely hate Abnorms while others are composed of nothing but.)
Name: (First required, last preferred)
Type of Being: (Norm, Abnorm, Trip, Modded, or Anthro.)
Age: (How old is your character?)
Gender: (Male? Female? It?)
Power/Insanity/Mod/Animal: (If you have a power, what is it? If you're a Trip, how are you insane? If you're Modded, what have you done to your body? If you're an Anthro, what animal are you based from, and do you have any minor powers or modifications done to your body?)
Appearance:* (You are free to post a link to a picture. However, a paragraph of description is still required. Include your character's physical features, such as: his/her general size, hair, eyes, the clothes he/she usually wears, the expression he/she normally has, etc. Please be as descriptive as possible!)
Personality:* (What is your character like around others? Is he/she shy? Talkative? Is he/she easy to get along with? Does he/she have a temper? What does your character think about love? Is her/she laid back? What kinds of things does he/she like? Are there specific people or situations that irritate him/her? etc.)
Skills and talents:* (What can your character do? Good at survival? Battle skills? Smooth talker? Be descriptive as possible.)
Inventory: (List the items your character regularly carries and why those items are important to him/her.)
History:************* (Not required, but strongly preferred. This will allow other members to get to know why your character acts the way he/she does, and it will provide you with a source you can always look back to if you can't remember certain aspects of your character's past.)
Remember to be balanced! To play in the RP, you must first have your character approved by me, as always. Try to be interesting while keeping your character balanced, please! If there are any questions, please ask. And if your character should know something that the others won't, I'll send it to you in a PM or something, if it's not terribly obvious(for example, a Modded character from a cybernetic hub would know more about technology than a Norm from the wasteland. But this is obvious. A Modded would know, however, the most recent developments of technology, who's currently in charge of what city, and if anything like that becomes important, I'll give out whatever information is needed). And, yes, this is directly based off of the story I posted a while ago.

Name: Alex "Hybrid" Steel
Type of Being: Abnorm
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Power/Insanity/Mod/Animal: Can manipulate his blood into solid-metal items, the stronger the item the more blood it takes, the more tired he gets. Because of this his blood recovers at an extraordinarily fast rate, also resutling in complete enhanced regeneration of the body. By encoating his bones and some major organs, he could theoretically be blasted to near nothingness and regenerate as long as his heart is not damaged. He constantly keeps certain portions of his body metallic (beneath the skin) to enhance his strength.
Appearance:* Tall and mostly skinny. He wears dark clothes, because he is a generic anime/FF rip-off He also has a mix of blue and silver and black *Strands of hair that became metal blades against his will* and is ponytailed down the back and spiked in the front. His eyes tend to change colors depending on the current lighting (Black in the light, lightish orange in dark, blue or green inbetween)
Personality: Mostly calm and quiet. He is very loyal if befriended, but he also can lose his temper.
Skills and talents:* He can see well in the dark, due to his adjusting eyes. He's also good for defending things, since he can create a shield of metal.
Inventory: He carries nothing with him at the moment, aside from food.
History: Severance Hybrid: Hybrid is a pre-existing character I manipulated into Severance, as such he will have an altered history from anything you might find in fics I post later down the road. Alex was born with the light blue hair you now see in some of his strands today. As a child he was always taught to fear Abnorms, however around the age of 11 his hair became coated (mostly) in silver and his eyes alternated color, he also noticed that he could see things very accurately with no real regard to the current light-level. At 14 he first began to notice his ability of metal blood, upon cutting himself in attempted suicide and seeing his blood take the form of the blade he was using. He later went ballistic and slaughtered a group of people who made fun of him because of his abnormalities. He ran from his local feds, and has been wandering for the past five years.

Kriven, your guy's ability of metal-blood is way to strong for an Abnorm, not to mention that he apparently has dark vision as well. You're either going to have to give him a new ability or make him a Trip.

hmm... what if I severely limited the amount of strength his weapons are? I mean, draining the blood weakens him immensely in the first place, but I could make the blades easy to break too.

Pretty much any bloodwork = instaTrip. Even if the blades were brittle glass, it would still be a Trip power, just with a weaker insanity.

Time for someone new! Name: Aline Sabroske Type of Being: Abnorm Age: 23 Gender: Female Power/Insanity/Mod/Animal: Manipulation of air She can move air around with enough force to lift up to about 20lbs of weight. She can propel items at a speed proportional to their weight. The air can move around in pretty much any direction she wants, but complex motions require more concentration. Appearance: Aline has a short stature, coming up to a meager 5' 7". She has straight chestnut hair, a little longer than shoulder-length, pushed behind her head and fastened at the end with a clip. Her garb reflects the rather dangerous nature of her profession: her pants are leather and spattered with burn marks and tears from encounters with Beasts. She wears a jacket made of the same material, but it's usually set up in a more gung-ho fashion with only one arm in the sleeve with the other draped over her kit or sword. There's also a small black ribbon tied around her neck with the ends lying down her back (no bow). Perched atop her head is a wide-brimmed dark brown hat, with a blue and red feather tassel hanging from the top. Personality: Aline used to be very submissive and quiet, the kind of person you'd pat on the head. After Tagelied's disappearance, though, she toughened up a bit, became more assertive, and not quite as creampuffy. She is, by nature, a kind person but she's rather hesitant to give it out: Tag was a distrustful man, at best, and alot of that rubbed off onto her. Skills and talents: Aline's fiancé, Tagelied, was a well-versed chemist, and she picked up a good portion of the trade in her time with him. This comprises her primary form of combat: she actually makes explosives and hurls them using wind currents. She's alright at hand-to-hand combat, but tends to stay away from the hurly-burly of melee fighting unless it comes to her. Inventory: A chemist's kit, a leather-lined wooden box which contains a number of foraged test tubes, beakers, other miscellany, a large area for consumable reactants and a small quantity of reuseabe regeants for field work. Tag had it made for her as a gift before they were engaged, and it bears their names engraved in a plaque on the front flap. The kit also has a knife sheath on the side, and Aline herself carries a katana, though she's not well-practiced with either. History: Aline was born into a backwater village on the far outskirts of a Cybernetic Center. She had the good fortune of growing up in a place where all types were generally tolerated, even the Modded and to some degree the Trips. When she about about 16 or so, a visiting Norm from Cybernetic Center fell for the Abnorm girl, and the two dated and were eventually engaged. However, a couple months after their engagement, her fiancé went missing. She spent the next year searching for him. She's all but given up, but Aline's become used to her life of wandering, and so spends her time moving from one town to the next, scrouging what goods she can make use of.

Name: Priscilla Maxwell
Type of Being: Modded.
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Power/Insanity/Mod/Animal: Large cybernetic arm with some organic compounds. Arm is much stronger than a normal arm.
Appearance: Priscilla is a visibally young girl. Raised in a rich society with rich people, she wears expensive clothes, however her first experiences outside of home taught her to buy clothes with more reason. Her long, blonde hair is tied into ponytails with two large, black ribbions. However, the image of a posh girl from the upper town is offset by the large, crude metal arm protruding from her left shoulder. Her skin is milky white, her eyes a pure green, and her body filling out like an attractive young woman, so she sometimes sees the arm as a curse to how good she could have looked.
Personality: Being sheltered for a large amount of her life, Priscilla has a set of standards and morals she feels that she can't break. She also tends to talk down to anyone she meets without really meaning to, and many of her social faults need to be made up for by someone who's with her. She is largely innocent to many of the dark things that happen in the world. Priscilla, despite her faults, sees herself as an ideal good person.
Skills and talents: Priscilla, as a child, never did any chores or helped around the house, and is largely inept at many survival skills such as cooking or first aid. However, she is nowhere near as bad at some things now as she was when she first left home. Her fighting ability is somewhat subpar, but the strength in her left arm makes up for many of her inherent faults.
Inventory: Priscilla has a belt/holster with a six-shooter and ammunition. She also hides a bank-card somewhere on her person.
History: Priscilla was inflicted with amnesia while touring a mining facility with her parents. She has no memory of what happened, but when she awoke, she was in a building of some sort. The first thing she noticed was a man with brown skin telling her not to be alarmed and to keep calm. The second thing she noticed was that her left arm was gone and replaced with a large metal device that was shaped vaguely like an arm. Needless to say, she got quite alarmed and upset. Over the next few weeks, she found out the identity of the man and where she was. She also found that her parents were killed in the cave-in. However, she couldn't remember anything except from when she was a little girl. The memories that stood out the most were stories of adventurers and travellers, and she ultimately decided to become one.
Name: Barry "Bruno" Tallsmith
Type of Being: Norm
Age: 32
Gender: Male
Power/Insanity/Mod/Animal: N/A
Appearance: Barry has brown skin and a very large build, sculpted from rigerous excersize and work in mines. He is quite tall, and prefers wearing roomy work clothes compared to most other attire. He keeps his hair quite short.
Personality: Barry is a kind hearted man who used to work in the Maxwell Mines before the collapsing incident. While working, he would donate his extra money to foundations or people who needed the money for food. Despite his kind, giving nature, he can be very short with people he's unfamiliar with.
Skills and talents: Barry's size and strength make him a formidable foe in a fight. He's been known to take a Beast on with his bare hands and come out perfectly unharmed. Other than fighting, he's a decent cook, and somewhat well learned for his profession. And because of his mining history, he has quite a bit of knowledge about temporary underground living.
Inventory: Barry carries most of the travelling gear. Beyond that, he also carries a shotgun for fighting.
History: Back in the mines, Barry was given the nickname of "Bruno", simply because "he looked the type". After the cave in and the mines closing, he began to take care of Priscilla Maxwell. He became especially devoted to her, and those around him would assume that it was because his kind nature and perhaps that he had fallen for her, though this is all just speculation. When Priscilla decided to go travelling, Barry was right behind her.

Name: Sen Yun
Type of Being: Abnorm
Age: Unsure. Close to the 20 range, but younger than 20 for sure.
Gender: He, but as far as anyone's concerned, 'it'.
Power/Insanity/Mod/Animal: The ability to increase temperatures - on some objects, enough to start a fire. The increment is up to circa 130°C. Just enough to start a fire with wood, and other flammable stuff. The problem is that he has to keep himself warm enough to use this. His power only goes for about a metre max. Usually, he's only 5 or 6 inches away. Hs has to charge for 5 seconds, but he can pre-heat - meaning he can charge, hold for up to an hour before losing charge, then blast with burnz.
Appearance: Usually seen: a) Wearing a black T-shirt and a dark red turtle-neck sweater over the T-shirt when the temperature is above 30°C b) Wearing a white T-shirt, then a black sweater without the turtle-neck over the T-shirt, then a bright blue turtle-necked sweater over the other sweater when the temperateure falls below 30°C, but is above 15°C. c) Wearing a bright red over suit b) when temperature drops below 15°C He always wears the same jet black pants though. He has the physique of a runner, and his hair is a darkened light brown. His eyes change colour with mood - most of the time, they're in between green and blue. And over any suit, he wears a mid-size black backpack
Personality: Can be talkative, as long as information about him is left unrevealed. Usually serious, and short-tempered at times - but is loyal to whatever team-mates he has - as long as betrayal isn't part of their regime. Doesn't take much to bars since he avoid all forms of alcohol due to a medical fact he recently discovered to be true thus far.
Skills and talents: He has a slight medical knowledge - most of which are the somewhat bizzare types. Very few of which are life-saving. and even fewer are for survival. Has a knack of staying out of attention's path. He'll fight with his bare hands - not attacking at all, either - but if his foe is reckless enoguh to swing, he's more apt to dodge, and either nick their weapon, disarm them, and give the weapon to someone else who lost theirs, or counter with his fist or foot.
If he packed a stone, he'll use that against an archer if he find one - those are the only thing he'll rush to. This is a kinda rare occasion however - since it's concieved that archers are few.
Other than that, he can't get burned by fire on his hands. Anywhere else is a different story.
Inventory: He'll occasionally pick up a heavy, but small stone to pack in his pocket as a travelling distraction and a weapon - considering he doesn't use any weapons except his opponent's on occasion.
History: Wise you, you've used the highlight tool... Either that, or some Audio program to read this. Anyhow, here we go.
Being born between a Trip and a Norm (his father being the Trip) Sen was protected for the first 7 years. But soon, His father died of a seizure. His mother couldn't protect him for long, but she was in for a surprise - Sen was holding back his ability to heat. It was an effective thing for one attack from the beasts - he set the house aflame while the beasts, still thinking the humans were inside, searched the building. He lost his mother to that incident, and ever since saw himself as a condemned man. During the years and usage of such, he learned some strange and useful things. Most things he learned was tricks to stay out of the line of attention, and how not to get sniffed out on some difficult occasions.
Now, Sen is a bit of a wayfarer - in terms to geography, anyways. He's likely traveled to wherever, and knows some rather sneaky camping areas. He usually sticks somewhat close to forests in case he needs to set one ablaze to make for an escape. However, he only does such for beasts - For humans, he'll burn them, not the forest. "No need to swat a fly with a tree."

What is the range on his heating ability? And how much of an object can he increase the heat on, on what scale?
Also, you were really vague on how he fights, which means you can easily pull some crap out of your ass at any given moment. And we can't have that. ;p
Also, to make invisible text, just use the color code for white.

Name: Math "White"
Type of Being: Anthro
Age: 6
Gender: Male
Power/Insanity/Mod/Animal: Shark.
Appearance: Math is taller then an average Norm, he retained a bit the size of the shark, but still decreased in size. He has short messy white hair. His eyes are a bit yellowish, bluish. He wears a green uniform that is torn apart and covered with blood and dirt. Math is looking usually insanely and has most of the time a laugh of his mouth while his eyes stare with hatre.
Personality: Math doesn't talk much unless it's about food. He stares at most people as if he's planning to eat them and so people don't get along with him too well. Math is very short-tempered and can get very angry quickly. He only cares about food and hates it when people take that away from him. Math doesn't care much about what'll happen as long as he gets something to eat. It irritates him alot when people take away his food or if someone finds a way to get out of his reach or isn't eatable.
Skills and talents: Math still has his sharp teeth and can breath underwater with gills on the sides behind his jaws. Math is very slow at running and doesn't have good feet and has problems to use them. When in water he's a fast swimmer and so he usually attacks from the water. Math can easily survive in the nature and eats anything that's made of flesh.
Inventory: Math has a flashlight, a short knife and a small book with him. He doesn't know he carries those things himself. He also carries a jungle knife for cutting a way through the jungle, but he just uses it to open up animals and people to get them out of the clothes so he can eat them easier.
History: Math always lived in the water, eating fish and ended up in a barren place. He doesn't know how he got there, but only cares about food. Not much known about him except that his favourite food is fish, and he doesn't care what kind of fish.

There we go.
Name: Rune Amory
Type of Being: Trip
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Power/Insanity/Mod/Animal: Manipulation of sound and music. However, as a trade-off, she is severely ligyrophobic and sedatephobic (fear of loud noises and fear of silence, respectively). She can take the soundwaves from speech, instruments, and background noise and form them into energy, which she can then use in battle. Harmonies are her greatest asset in a good mood; dissonance gives her strength when angered. Because of her power, she can conceal hers and others' footsteps, utilize ventriloquism, damage the equilibrium of an opponent, and generate sound of different levels. However, she does not have complete control over these powers, and does not use them to their full extent for fear of harming herself or others. If she does so, she suffers from severe bouts of psychosis for days afterward (although these strike her every few months at random on their own), and patches of her long-term memory vanish. It is possible that she possesses extremely dangerous abilities, but not knowing the toll they would take on her mind, she chooses to keep a limit on her strength. This has led many to believe she is only an Abnorm, a misconception which she readily encourages.
Appearance: She is short—only about five feet, two inches—and of a somewhat slim build; she has a thin waist, and very little in any other dimension of female measurements, causing her to be mistaken for a boy on occasion (it doesn't help that her voice sounds somewhat like that of a young boy's, either). She looks very young for her age, only about 14 or so. Her skin is pale, and she is somewhat sickly. Her hair is black, reaching barely midway down her neck, and is often unkempt. She wears glasses. Her clothing of choice consists of a white dress shirt, usually partly tucked-in, with a long black necktie fitted under the collar, and a pair of dark green (nearly black) dress pants which she washes constantly, implying that they are perpetually clean. However, a closer look reveals what appear to be varied stains—blood, dirt, and all manner of other things. On her wrists, she wears two identical bracelets (about 30% greater in diameter than her thin wrists, and three inches wide vertically), black, each adorned with a white half-rest. It is assumed that these are in place to limit her power.
Personality: Shy, easily embarassed, low self-esteem; all of these are the result of a sheltered upbringing in a prejudiced primarily-Norm village. Rune isn't so much a tomboy as she is downright manly, but not outspoken enough to make this a clear personality trait; when she does speak, however, she is blunt and often very insensitive without intending to be. She is a coward and a liar, but her cleverness and stealth are valuable assets, and there is a rarely-seen component of her personality which is very kind and even self-sacrificing. Her psychosis ranges from brief catatonia to vivid delusions, and she might be epileptic.
Skills and talents: Rune can play the piano beautifully. She is also skilled at stealth operations and disguising herself.
Inventory: A small, ragged satchel which contains: a dual pocketwatch/metronome with an eighth-note painted on the front and a barely-legible engraving on the back (though none have ever come close enough to read it), a smallish notebook with lined paper, a pen, and a yellowed photograph which, like the engraving on the pocketwatch, has gone unseen by all others.
History: Raised on the outskirts of a Cybernetic Center, by her father and her twin brothers, Castor and Pollux (six years her seniors). Later, she and the brothers apparently lived alone in a village (which is all Rune will divulge about the her childhood). Rune was separated from them in some sort of incident which she will not speak of. She has been living in a Cybernetic Center for a few months adjusting to life.
