(( I've decided that Moses needs to know whats going on. but since I know the story (i checked all the missions), and i don't feel like making you explain it to me during the RP, we'll just pretend like you explained it to him when mission 4 evantually starts, ok?))
Moses stood up fast, and slid back a few feet from the new woman that entered the camp. Moses didn't know anyone here, but by the sudden change in the air, he quickly realized that that.....thing that just walked in wasn't one of this group. Giet was Haunched up next to him. Even though he was growling, he was definatly scared.
Moses didn't even know his spear was in his hand and at ready. Everything about her spoke death loud and clear. Even the air seemed to want to get as far away from her as possible, or maybe it was just Moses's mind playing tricks on him. /me I don't know who she is, but she's definatly the person i would least want to be up against. /me And i've seen a lot of things i wouldn't want to be up against.
Moses felt cold. This woman sucked the very warmth out of his bones without even looking at him...

«Oi!» Clear, loud, and inescapable, Terix' mindvoice erupted inside the Teacher's head. «What d'you want with Aleu and Kap? Yer daft if ye think I'll let some sadistic, halfbaked freak like you at them without a fight...»
At the outskirts of the clearing, Terix' body had locked up tight as he gathered his mental strength. Plants, trees, shrubs, grass, the life around him had begun to wither at an astonishing rate. Even as his body locked down, his mind was racing with strategies and worst-case scenarios: Keep a spearhead ready to pierce mindshields, in case she can make one... if she has resistances, flay them off first... defenses and curing elixirs will have to go, if she has any of those... she doesn't seem telepathic, not thus far, but if she is then I have to watch for counterspells, as weak as they might be... keep a quarter free if I need to call on Brother for help...
What're you doing, brother..? Cyrus' voice echoed across their mindlink.
Getting ready for war. He cut the link.

((It's sad when I have to study my own character ^^ ) Shiruba examined the new arrival from the tree tops. She was as scary as they got, but y'know what? All women were scary to Shiru. That's why he wasn't into that. This woman wasn't making it any better either. Buut~! "Hey, Ter-ter, you shouldn't be so quick to judge," Shiru said hopping down behind the much younger one "...and so violent." He wondered if they'd even remember him. After all, he just up and disapeared. But that was the way of the traveling summon! To travel with the way his feelings told him, to follow the wind as it echoed! Or in other words, he just got lost and decided not to find his way back. But of course, wandering is lonely. Plus, his spirit intuition told him this group was were it was happening! And he wanted adventure! Excitement! Or, in other much different words, he missed Cyrus. Ari or no Ari. ((but he's back due to popular demand^^))

((Shiru's back? YEAAAAA!))
Well, aren't we the paranoid one? came back the equally sharp reply. Don't you worry about a thing, Mr. Suspicious. I'm their teacher from a few years ago, and I'm sure that gives me the authority to give both of them a tongue-lashing for... something they shouldn't have done. You have my word that I won't eat their spleens or anything... unless, of course, that becomes a necessary course of action. I'll be sure to let you know. And if I remember correctly, Kapu doesn't like to be called Kap. Something about a hat. She paused, sensing the emotion carried over the telepathtic link, and added, Down boy. With that, Teacher neatly sliced the connection off and put up the steel-wall barriers she had learned to use way back when Kapu had studied under her. His incessant mind-chatter forced her to find a way to keep him quiet. She did have a few other mental defenses against unwanted intrusion and there were a few counterspells sitting in the dusty shelves of the back of her mind.
But Teacher never used them. It was rumored (well out of earshot. Well out of earshot.) that she walked with the grace of the gods (or a patron diety of your choosing). To date, nothing had managed to inflict any kind of major harm upon her, except for the first time she had made Aleu whip up dinner. Other than Aleutian Casserole, any kind of attack mostly fizzled. She could walk through a freaking minefield and come out unscratched.
Then again, maybe the mines were too afraid to hurt her. This was a theory that no one seemed in a hurry to test.
"Aleu! Kapu!" Teacher's voice rang out clear and loud across the valley, and something in the pair's hearts told them that getting their rears back to the cabin (where the voice had come from) would be in the best interests of their survival.
Aleu turned in her tracks and dove into her time warps again, taking care to include Kapu inside once she got close enough. They took their time going back, and ended up in front of Teacher in three seconds flat.
They both kneeled down and bowed in front of her, not daring to meet her frightening glare. Kapu trembled a little bit. Aleu managed to keep herself composed, to a degree.
"What is the meaning of this?" Teacher gently pulled Serene up in front of the two, removing the jacket at the same time. The girl, two years Aleu's senior, stood with head bowed and tears streaming freely.
Aleu looked at the wet spots in the ground, and her gaze slowly moved up, taking in the skinny, pale frame, the long dress and the jacket which had been the model for hers and Kapu's. And, most of all, the huge, white and pale blue wings.
"Serene?!" Kapu and Aleu spoke at the same time. "What are you doing here?" Aleu added. Kapu spoke in tandam with her again, but with a considerably fouler mouth. Teacher resisted the urge to pull out his lungs. She had promised the paranoid child.
"You know her?" The way her eyes narrowed would have bored holes into solid concrete. If looks could kill, Kapu's mass murder was nothing compared to her glare. It was akin to something more on the lines of mass genocide, xenocide, and any other -cide you cared to name.
"She's... she's our sister," Aleu managed, bracing herself for the torrent of angry words to come.
((Too lazy to type a long rant now))

...if one word could summarize Terix' response, it would have to be wry. Ooh, a wall. I'm scaaaared. Like this could stop me. Determining her to be of no more threat than anything else along the way, Just a tad more arrogant than I'd like, he concentrated on undoing his defenses.
Oh well. Slowly his body began to unlock, his senses returning to normal as he crept back out of his mind. ...and in doing so, noticed the fox. "...when did you get there?"

Judging by the numbness in their knees and the path of the sun across the sky, about an hour of ranting had passed. Serene was, as always, crying somewhere out of the way.
Ye gods. Two hours.
Two and a half. She seemed to be running out of steam, and Aleu idly wondered if she would be able to ever feel her lower extremities again. She gave herself a 30% chance of recovery. Kapu gave himself 10.
There was a lull in the tirade, and the two siblings looked up. Teacher's normally very, very straight hair was mussed slightly. The anger seemed gone, replaced by a slightly evil smile. Somehow, it looked even more sinister in the orange light of dusk.
"Aleu. Get up. Serene, over here please." Aleu quickly stood, and Serene obediently got up and padded (soggily) to face her sister.
"Bow." In her head, Aleu moaned unhappily. This setup was the same one that Teacher had used every time that Kapu and Aleu had to duel. It was usually quite long, quite painful, and didn't end until one of them collapsed from exhaustion. And... with Serene? Aleu had fought her only once or twice, and each time Serene fell quickly. What was...?
"No magic. No wings. None of your fancy time-bending, Aleu, or believe me, I'll know and the next few days of your life will be a torrent of pain. Go."
Aleu nodded, slightly cowed, and, at Teacher's command, slid her blade out from its sheath and stepped forward quickly, slicing horizontally in the same move that beat Serene last time.
Her jacket shifted slightly, and there was the metallic clash of steel on steel. Aleu looked up in surprise, and saw the katana held in her sister's left hand. It was the same as her own, except maybe an inch or two bigger. Huh. Had Serene learned something over the -- HOLY!
Aleu ducked down fast, hearing a high-pitched and very loud whistling noise over her head. That was freaking fast. What had Serene...
No time to think! The air whined again and Aleu barely had time to jump back. The next lightning-quick blow was met by Aleu's sword, and the two exchanged a quick flurry of attacks and counters. Finally, Aleu managed to strike down hard and drive both swords down with their tips touching the dirt. She swiftly put a hand into her inner pocket and flung a dart hard at Serene.
Clang! She had another sword?! What in the name of --
Whoosh! Shut up, mind. Just fight.
The fight took a definite turn to Serene's advantage after the second blade came out, and Aleu was driven backwards until they were standing at the edge of the treeline. Serene's expression had changed from broken little girl to hard determination, and Aleu took the first hit of the match when she moved her head to the left too slow, and got clipped by a streaking line of silver that shot upwards out of her range of vision. Dang. Serene got tough.
Another exchange of blows, and Aleu found herself with her back to the tree. Serene's left blade missed and sank deep into the wood, and Aleu managed to deflect her other sword into the bark as well. Both blades were stuck, surely this was the time!
With a shout, Aleu rammed forward with her shoulder, striking Serene in the chest and pushing her back away from her twin blades. Perfect! Aleu spun, sword raised for the final stroke--
And felt it clang against Serene's sword. What the? Aleu chanced a quick glance backwards, the first two blades were still halfway buried into the wood. Did that mean that she had three swords? Who in God's name fought with three freaking swords!?
Apparently, Serene did. Aleu ducked a horizontal swipe and scooted around to her left, backing away. Her opponent casually tugged the other weapons out of the tree, and held two swords in one hand and one in the other.
"Lookit me, Aleu," she said softly. A white line shot from her hand, and Aleu jumped to one side to avoid it. She had thrown a sword, and quite well, too. If Aleu were the kind of person to lose their nerve in a fight, this would be the time for it to happen.
The battle continued for another ten minutes or so. Serene's style of fightning seemed to be a combination of sword throws and quick slices, with speed parallel to Aleu's. The thing that threw her off balance most, though, was when a blade shot upwards into the sky and came rocketing back to earth without warning. Twice, this move had opened cuts on her body, one on her left arm and the other on her healing back. Luckily, they were relatively small, but Aleu was tiring quickly, and Serene seemed fresh as a daisy.
Well, if the wearing them out game wasn't going to work...
Aleu sidestepped an attack and made a spinning sideswipe, throwing her body into the motion. Serene blocked, as Aleu had hoped, and she thought that tiny fractures had appeared in the metalwork of the defending blade. Good 'ole Aunt Sivvy! Muscles like a bull and the finest smith in the area. People who called her profession "unwomanly" were either far out of hearing or introduced with the heavy side of her smithing hammer.
"Stop!" Aleu froze mid-swipe, and Serene stopped mid-parry. Teacher walked over to the pair and separated them.
"That's enough. It's getting late. Aleu, I want to talk to you privately. Serene, I had Kapu set up a hammock for you over there." Teacher gestured with her hand.
-----Emotional Moment for Aleu. Don't bother reading if you're not interested, this is a bit of Serene's backstory and some character motives for Aleu/Kapu/Family-----
"Aleu, over here please." She followed her Teacher obidiently. They walked for perhaps a half-mile, and Teacher stopped them at a ridge. She sat down, and gestured for Aleu to do the same.
They sat in silence for a while. "Aleu," Teacher ventured after about ten minutes. "Why do you all hate Serene so much? She's your blood kin, and your entire family threw her to the metaphorical wolves."
Aleu's head drooped against her chest. This was not how she liked to spend her evenings. After a moment, she said tentatively, "Because... We're afraid of her."
"Afraid?" Teacher would have sounded surprised, if Teacher ever sounded surprised.
Aleu nodded glumly. "Do you... know what happened seven years ago? I was ten, but I still remember. Kapu too, and he was only eight."
Teacher hesitated, then shook her head. "Serene never talked about it. I saw that it hurt her, so I didn't press the issue."
"I'll bet it hurt her," Aleu said. "You know that every member of the family, at age 12, has to take the Shapeshifter's Exam, right? It's a tradition, and our gift is a matter of pride among the family." Teacher nodded. "Well, now it's so easy that it's more of fuss and feathers than anything serious; at least, that's the mentality everyone has. No one's failed. Ever.
"Except for Serene. That's why she has those wings. She can't get them off, and every time she looks at them or someone points them out, it's... I guess, it's a reminder of her failure. Of the way she shamed... well, everyone." Aleu's shoulders sagged.
"I try to be nice to her... She's a great person, and I love her no matter what... but seeing her like that... broken to bits and unable to stand even looking at her family without bursting into tears... It's scary."
"How so?" said Teacher quietly.
"Shapeshifting can get... complicated, at times. The more you do it, or the more inexperienced you are, the greater the odds are of you screwing something up." She shivered. "I... Kapu and I used to have a friend, a few years older than us, way back when we were little, who could shapeshift. His name was Syrin. He was from a different family, and he used to show off to us all the time. I remember how Kapu's eyes used to light up every time he saw it."
"And then what happened?" Teacher asked, her voice almost inaudible.
"...Something went wrong. He turned into a wolf one day, but... he couldn't go back. He... he looked at me, with big, pleading eyes. 'Help me,' they said. 'Please...'" Aleu broke off, brushing at her eyes with a sleeve. "I... I'll never forget what it was like. How terrified I was, because that could easily have happened to Kapu, or even me. He killed himself soon afterwards."
Aleu looked at the floor. When she spoke again, her words came in a rush, and almost on the verge of a tearful breakdown. "And every time I look at her, I get so scared! I keep remembering Syrin, the way he used to laugh, the way he used to play with us, and the way he looked at us when he needed us most and we couldn't do a thing! And I look at Kapu and hope and pray and wish with everything I've got that something like that never happens to him! I... I couldn't stand it if I lost him..." Her words came a bit thickly, and she stopped talking for a while.
Teacher shifted slightly where she sat. Aleu braced herself again for some kind of angry lecture, and was stunned when she felt a soft pat on her back. Was Teacher being compassionate? Teacher wasn't compassionate!! She didn't pat your back, she stuck nails in it!!
"Okay." With that, Teacher stood up and left. Aleu stayed there for a while, finally laying back to face up at the stars. Jeez. Did she really just spill like that? She was almost disgusted with herself and the way she had just spilled her innermost fears to Teacher.
And then came the pain. The three cuts from her bout with Serene weren't too bad, but one had lashed her back and that burned like fire. The grass felt kinda nice, though...
Kapu found her sleeping in the same spot the next morning. Teacher was nowhere to be found, but Serene was still hanging around, so she couldn't have gone too far.
--End Emo--
((Holy crap. That was long.))

During the fight between Aleu and ....what was it? Serene?.... Moses had a very strong urge the lauch a spear. With what he had seen so far, it was safe for him to determine that Aleu was not his enemy. And seeing the new woman that appeared, he had a feeling that she was going to cause him trouble one day. With Serene kicking Aleu's butt, who knew when something fatal could have happened. However, Moses resisted the urge to do that, with a glance at the 'scary lady', as he might have dubbed her. He did not want to get on her bad-side by disrupting the duel, and seeing how no-one was helping Aleu, and they knew her, that if 'scary lady' came after him, there wouldn't be a chance of help. About when the third blade of Serene appeared, Moses got down near Giet. "Giet." He wispered, "Let's go see how the boys are doing." By 'the boys', he ment his bandit tribe, of course. He slipped out of the camp quickly, while everyone near the cabin had their eyes glued to the duel. He quitetly made along until he got out of earshot, then turned into a slow jog back to his camp, about 2 to 4 miles away, depending on how tired you got, and how much farther it seems you go when your tired.
As he entered the bandit camp, he heard a familiar voice say, "Moses! Where were you?" Moses turned to see one of his closest bandits, named "Csaba! Howzit goin'?" Moses walked up and hugged him.
((Moses has a very close relatinship with his bandits, cuz' hes been with them almost his whole life))
"Not far. Just a few miles out. Theres this big group o' people over there," He said pointing. " And i kinda stumbled upon then by accident"
"What happened there?" Csaba replied.
Moses sighed. " I'm pretty hungry, and tired right now. I'll tell ya in the mornin', before i head back. When i can tell everyone, too. I'm not gonna explain it twice." Csaba nodded as Moses walked through the door of his tent with Giet. Almost instantly he sprawled out on the animal skin 'blanket' on the ground. "You excited for what this is gonna bring, Giet?" Giet replied with a *woof*, as he lay next to moses. "Me too Giet, Me too..." Imediatly after saying that, he fell asleep...

((Aww..! Poor Serene. ;_; You're going to make Ari cry. Me-Ari, not Ari-Ari. Well, Maybe Ari-Ari too, but not yet. XDD)) ((Since Aleu had decided to pass the day for us, I'll continue from the morning. )) "Yawn..." Ari stretched tiredly, blinking softly and turning her head away as to avoid the morning light. In at her years of sleeping in trees, last night was the worse. It seemed as if a squirrel was poking her with a stick, or maybe even chucking acorns at her. Bah. It could've been that noisy woodpecker too. Despite that irkitating squirrel or woodpecker, or whatever, the thing that kept Ari up all night was thoughts of that strange teacher. She was creepy and seemed abnormally short tempered, topped off with that "I-can-and-I-will-bite-your-head-off" look. Ari shivered softly at the thought of seeing her again. Afterall, she was probably on that teacher's bad side after trying to save Aleu and Kapu's butts. Surprisingly, neither of them seemed hurt in any kind of way. Mortally frightened maybe, but not physically tortured. Hrm... Ari thought. I wonder where Aleu is... Her friend went off with the teacher last night and still hadn't returned. Maybe that woman did something to her..? O.o Bah, that Teacher might have been creepy, but she didn't look like a massacring machine either. The half elf twisted, stretching her back muscles as she looked down below at the hammock. So this is Aleu and Kapu's older sister... I wonder why they had never said anything before. ...she looks so tiny, almost like a small child, not in any way Aleu's senior. But appearances were obviously deceiving. Serene was freakishly scary in battle, Ari found out. She swung down the ground and took a closer look at the girl, readjusting the blanket around her shoulders. It wasn't unusually cold last night, but chilly enough to find a blanket comfortable, so Ari had snuck inside to get the newcomer one while Serene slept.

((I miss back in the day when people would just post simple paragraphs or maybe just a one liner...)
Shiruba stumbled back a bit. He was about to say 'A few minutes ago', but he had decided to blink first. Bad idea. It had gone from late morning to early morning in that short amount of time. Shiruba's fox tail fluffed as he looked around, okay, well that was weird. Did he have a stroke or something?? What!? A whole day passed by him completely!? What had happened in that time!? But most importantly, had he been standing their like an idiot!? What would Terix and Cyrus possibly think of him!? Shiru placed a hand over his face in shame and sighed ",How embarassing..."
((Ja, I thought Shiru spacing out for the day fit him better. Plus it makes an interesting thing to tease him about XD))

(( Hey, we can pop in together! XD I'll get it started. :3 ))
A girl with long navy blue hair was wandering around nearby. She shielded her eyes from the sun as it rose, deciding afterwards to just turn around and face away from the sun instead. It was all so quiet except for the animals that made random noises, like chipring from the birds, chittering from the chipmunks, or thunks from the woodpeckers.
The quiet-ness of the moment was shattered as her stomach growled. She had a fierce stomach with a mean growl, and not having dinner last night didn't help. "I'm hungry. I know! I need food!" A grin spread on her face, she tried to continue her wandering in a more orderly fashion, whatever that was, singing whie she skipped. "I... need... food! Oh... Yes, I do...! Dum-dee-dum-dum... Foo-foo-foo-foo-food..."

((wow... people sure are literate today aren't we? bah... lets see if I can pull something out... it probably won't be here but in one of the other RPs I'm in with my luck....))
Shiori decided to stay away from the group, at least until the chaos subsided. She wasn't completely truthful to Ari the day before. The angel was going through a tough time at the moment. She leaned against the trunk of the tree that she sat in. Through the leaves she saw Serene in the distance. The winged girl reminded her a little of the experiments that Cruxis performed, two in particular.
Amaro landed on Shiori's branch from some random one above. The girl gripped the branch as bounced drastically. How the higher branch didn't break because of Amaro's weight, and how her branch didn't break from the jump, was beyond the angel's mind.
The kitsune looked at his companion's meloncoly face. "Thinking about Auberon?" he asked solumly. Shiori only nodded. Without saying anything more, Amaro shrunk in size so that he could fit on her lap. The girl's hand scratched behind the fox's ears, staring out around her without taking anything in.
