All you have to do is follow along with the mission. Please read the sticky thread before starting. Thanks. *Note that this is kinda like an "after Tales of Symphonia" RPG. There are also spoilers from Tales of Symphonia so please stop reading right now if you don't want any spoilers.
Mithos Yggdrasil, the wrold's criminal and secret "king" for 4000 years had finally been slain by a boy named Lloyd Irving. He and another 8 people, Genis Sage, Raine Sage, Colette Brunel, Sheena Fujibayashi, Regal Bryant, Zelos Wilder, Presea Combatir, and Kratos Aurion had become world renouned heros! All of them, except for Kratos, who had left with Derris-Kharlan, had spent another 15 years living in peice and healing the world from its destruction and racism. However, 15 years after the slaying of Mithos Yggdrasil, another enemy appeared and started causing chaos and confusion upon the lands of Sylvarant and Tethe'alla by capturing the giant kharlan tree was captured by an unknonwn race. People who haved lived next to the tree claim the people guarding it looked like half elves but with wings. The angels have returned. Inspired by the group of 9 that defeated evil 15 years ago, a new group set out to stop the vile evil haunting the land. The group heard about a map of underground chambers, which could lead to the first clue on how to stop the new evil. That map can found high in the mountains by Asgard in the Sylvarant land.
In other words, the first mission is simple: fight your way to the top of the mountain and get the map.

"Hm..." Arynielle peered up at the distant mountains. "That is one heck of a climb. Good thing I don't have a fear of heights." Now tell me, who the hell was stupid enough to place a map on top of a mountain? she thought. The half-elf was alone- at the moment. Who knows what friends or foes could be following her? Nothing was for sure, since a new evil appeared and shrouded the land in darkness. Well, not literally of course. Arynielle twirled her staff around, in a few circles, while pondering what to do. As she usually does when deep in thought, she began speaking with herself.
"Why am I doing this again? Oh that's right. Ari is just too nice to say no to a call of aid, and that's the reason why I'm in this mess. This is just peachy. After all, these things always happen to Ari... meh." She decided that enough was enough and that speaking with herself wasn't going to help at all. Arynielle sighed, looking at the forbidden mountains one last time. "Might as well." She put one foot in front of the other and agily, but slowly made her way up a beaten trail.

He had been following her for a while now, for, if nothing else, his own amusement. As a wandering knight, it was Matty's duty to ensure that the travelers he found taking the broken path didn't end up...well...broken. And this girl was far, far along the broken path.
Much to his pleasure, he hadn't been spotted yet. Which saved him the trouble of explaining to her what he was doing, why he was doing it, and what intentions he may have had for doing whatever it was he was doing at the time...*cough*
Huh...getting left behind again....she could certainly move when she wanted to. He hoists his broadsword over his shoulder and continues to cautiously followed up the mountain from a distance.

Skye watched the two travellers pass her perch in her favorite tree. It was a nice tree. Very green. And brown. There was a lot of brown too.
Anyway, her favorite part was the branch about halfway up that created a perfect seat and allowed her to watch the road from the covert spot behind the leaves.
It was actually quite comical. The girl in the lead was wonderfully ignorant of the man trailing her. Skye had to follow them quickly with her violet orbs and rose with catlike grace to move to the next tree, then the next, following the guy who was following the girl who seemed to be wandering somewhat aimlessly.
She had reached the fifth tree when...
CRASH!
She fell onto the rocky terrain with a resounding thud in a whirlwind of leaves and branches.
"Umgph," she moaned.
Five.
She hated that number. It was the worst number that...was ever a number!

A loud thump could be heard behind the half elf in the distance. Her elven ears twitched. "What the hell was that?!" She hoped it wouldn't be anyone who was injured and certainly wished that it wasn't an army full of monsters, wishing to ambush her. But like always, the girl's curiousity triumphed over all sense. Arynielle gracefully bounded with the fleet of a deer to the site, where this noise seemed to have come from.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa!" she said, seeing some sort of swordsman along the beat-up mountain path. She stopped herself, before she could run into the poor guy. He seemed to be sure of himself, while adhered to some sort of important duty. "And who might you be?" Arynielle asked, forgetting about the loud commotion for a minute.

The swordsman stared at Arynielle like a deer caught in the headlights...He opens his mouth to speak, then nervously shuts it just as quickly.
"I....I...uh...huh..."
He takes a step back from her, then begins to speak again.
"M...my name is Mat...Matthew Cesar." The young man doesn't say the words without a bit of trouble. He seemed to have a slight stutter as he attempts to explain as best he can.
"I...I'm a knight...well...sor...sorta. I tr...try to make sure that no one gets hurt....around here." He makes a wide arc with his hands, as though that totally explained what around here was. "Because...uh...thats....thats what I'm payed for...sorta..."

"Uh-huh," Arynielle nodded, with a hint of doubt in her voice. She wasn't exactly convinced, but sure- why not? If the guy said that he was a knight, then whatever. "Sorry- can't chat- gotta go!" She took a few steps down the mountain trail. The half-elf wasn't about to let him distract her from what she was supposed to be doing, which at the moment was trying to investigate whoever, or whatever made such a commotion.
Yet, the girl wasn't too prideful to ask for help when she needed it. That loud noise may have been something... well, bad. I would say that I don't need any help. Least of all from a guy, who can barely answer my question, but what the heck? I may actually not regret it. Arynielle sighed inwardly and ran over to Matthew, grabbing his arm. "Come on," she tugged. "Let's go see what that noise was."

They go see to see what the noise was to find a younger looking man with a lower voice slashing an overly large dark angel with a flame-edged sword. The dark angel threw a dark energy ball at the man but then angel wings sprung out of his body and the town behind him and all the citizens of it were completely desroyed. The dark angel then dived down at the man and held him down to the ground. He couldn't reach his sword. He thought that after all the years of him living would finally come to an end until he saw a group of strangers...

Matty lets out a small whimper as he allows himself to be tugged along by the young lady who, in spite of her smaller size, had great upper body strength. As he's getting dragged to the crash site, however, he manages to spot...well...to him, it looked like a giant chicken with black wings about to kill...something...
"W....Wait! Look! Look!" He yells, trying to tug his arm away from her, while using his other arm to point down at the giant dark angel.

"Hmm this is odd...This mountain has some odd aura to it.....Best check it out...." Lloyd for 15 years since the defeat of Mithos was searching throughout the world for Ex-Spheres, until he approached this mountain..
"WHAT THE.... Why are the Angels back.......DAMN Must be they are after the Kharlan tree again......Never a dull day around here..." *Draws swords and runs toward the mountain*
"Dang if I knew I would be doing this I would've bought my Materail Blade....Oh well what is the fun without a little challenge.."
With this thought in mind Lloyd head up towards the mountain.

Several yards from where the travelers were standing a group of enemies appeared. Fortunantly, they were weak wolfs.

Skye was up in a mere matter of seconds.
Holy crap! she thought Once minute I'm passing the time in my little tree with nothing to do and now I hear screaming and see smoke...Is my memory that bad?
She shrugged and looked around for the person with the distress call. She spotted him not to far away being attacked by an...angel? She had only heard stories of those. Her ears picked up the growl of the wolves, but the redhead seemed to need more help and the wolves wouldn't be too hard to fend off.
Skye flipped her knives out of her sleeves and ran at the quarreling angels full speed, voice raised in a scream, "Crystal daggar!" she yelled, the two knives glowing for a second before becoming iridescent. She lunged at the agressor, aiming for his head.

"Fool, you underestimate my power...JUDGEMENT!!!!"
The dark angel was destroyed. Kratos was badly wounded in the chest, he picked up his flamberge and quick went to find somewhere to get medical attention.

"Oh damn," Arynielle cursed under her breath. "Not good. Not good at all." This man had been mercilessly stabbed by some sort of angel freak and she couldn't just sit there and watch. After all, what good could a half-elf do, if she couldn't even save one person, much less save the world from the mass destruction of evil? Ari looked to her right to see a small pack of wolves approaching. Ain't that just great? She then peered out in front, where a girl rushed to the man's aid. The half-elf shook her head, clearing her mind from all distractions. Okay fine. Arynielle was a bit roostery, slightly cynical and maybe just an itsy-bitsy selfish. She didn't have to do this. No, nothing in this world made her have to. Her job was to fetch the map... but oh well.
Arynielle figured that those wolves would have to wait. How much damage could they do? The beasts could be fended off easily, while a man, who had been stabbed would need some healing. She rushed over to Kratos. "Let me see your wound." Ari didn't know him. She didn't have to help him. But seeing someone else suffer wasn't exactly pleasing to the half-elf.
