Almost there.. Jukka set down the dead creature to wipe the lith off of himself with a small deadstone he kept with him.
"Lizzie!" Jukka greeted their injured comrade. The group exchanged greetings with her, and she announced she'd be returning to the group soon. Glad to have more help on the team again, Jukka sighed and went back to the mangy thing. He lifted it from the ground and began walking to the kitchenhouse. Senith came up and joined the walk.
"Hm..yeah sure. I guess I have been on it for a while. You carry this half." Jukka, hanging onto the upper body of the creature, threw the butt end over to Senith, who caught onto it. Jukka chuckled and walked on towards the kitchenhouse.

Senith was taken aback as the butt of the beast was practically thrown at his face and struggled to stay on his feet as he caught it. He wasn't a strong person at all, with a frail stature and almost no muscle build, and almost dropped the beast, but steadied himself uneasily. "Th-thanks for giving me the best end," Senith muttered quietly as he put all his effort in keeping up with Jukka as they carried the monster towards the kitchenhouse. He watched his feet to make sure he wouldn't trip over them, but it figured the moment he looked up and felt confident with the heavy weight, his feet fell over each other and he tumbled down to the ground with a yelp.
"Aigh, my bad!" he exclaimed, getting to his feet quickly, ignoring the fact that his clothes and such were even more dirty now, to go back to helping Jukka. "I have no strength whatsoever... Hence the summons of course. I got it this time, though, I shouldn't look up from my feet, since I'm the clumsiest person ever..." As they continued to lug it along, Senith paid special attention to not tripping again and making even more a fool of himself.

Jukka couldn't help but chuckle as Senith's arms shook under the weight of the creature. Eventually, he fell flat out right on his face. Jukka swung the dead beast over his shoulder.
"Don't worry about it, we're almost there. Your company's good enough for the rest of the way." He laughed as he walked on with the full weight of the beast again, stopping only to throw a deadstone to Senith - the constant presence of the thing's lith was getting to him - he seemed tired and he was sure it wasn't from hauling the thing around.
The pair reached the kitchenhouse and Jukka plopped the beast down outside the door.
"Another day's work done eh?" Jukka leaned against the wall of the kitchenhouse for a quick recovery. "So, what you up to for tonight?"

((Strongarm's profile slightly updated.))
"Thank you," said Gina, bowing to Jukka and Sen as she came out of the kitchen. "We'll have the meal ready in a little while... give us, say, a hundred spins?" Her son, a green-haired lad about Jukka's age, trooped out of the cookhalls, hefted the beast onto one shoulder, and quickly trooped back in.

"Oh! Jukka, Senith!" Sagi scurried out of the kitchen, brushing lith off himself. "Dad's Remembrance is after the meal... I'm sure you remember him. Would you like to come?"
- A Remembrance is to commemorate the dead. They are dropped through the Veil, so there is a single building set aside for ceremonies like these... Elaboration during said ceremony :3

"Of course!" Jukka said with a smile to Sagi. "We'll be there." Jukka hoped he hadn't sounded too optimistic there - he had a tendency to answer sad questions with a bright tone. Oh well, Sagi would appreciate the sentiment either way.
Jukka walked back across the bridge toward the previous rooftop and sat down on the ledge, exhausted, not so much from the hunt, but from carrying the creature all the way back. Jukka liked the burn in his legs though - it reminded him he had indeed made progress with himself.
The air was cooling. The perfect time of day. Jukka laid his spears aside and simply relaxed until he would be off to bed.

((Little Sagi. =D <3))
"Sure thing," Senith replied, being sure to give a half-hearted smile at the sensitive subject. "We'll be there for sure. I'll get Ceileuse if you want; I'm sure he wouldn't want to miss it. He thought your dad was a great guy, like all of us did... Well, do. Not that we still don't think he's a great guy, you know, he still is, and the... well..." Senith knew he was just bumbling now and let himself fall silent. He heard Jukka start to scoot off and stayed, waiting for Sagi's reply as he let his eyes wander along the rooftop.

((Jukka, there's no sun DX))
Sagi laughed a little at Senith's attempt at a remark, grabbing him in a hug around the midriff. "Thanks, both of you. Ask Cei if he wants to come! I'm sure Dad will appreciate it. I'll see you at the Home of Remembering after dinner, okay?"

"Yup, we'll see you later!" Senith called back, glancing over his shoulder with a wave as he started to leave. "If Ceil won't come, I'll drag him along. He's not that heavy, after all, despite his looks... And I'll fetch Jukka to come along if he forgets." As he was walking with no attention to his steps, he almost got his foot caught on another rock, but steadied himself before he fell to the ground. Flustered, he wobbled back up into a walk, trying to act like nothing happened, hoping no one noticed. Second time today; he really had to pay more attention to where he was going or he might just walk off a rooftop.
"Ceileuse!" Senith exclaimed once he reached the redhead's small individual house, giving the door a few raps. "I gotta talk to you!"
"My hand's tired," a voice mumbled loudly in reply. "And I have no paper."
Puzzled, Senith raised an eyebrow and stared blankly at the door for a few seconds. "Cei, it's Senith," the blue haired boy stated with a confused tone, and the door quickly swung open, catching him off guard. His back stiffened at the squeaking noise, and Ceileuse stood there in the doorway, giving him a tired stare. "...Uh, there's gonna be a Remembrance for Sagi's dad after dinner, and you're gonna come, okay?"
"Yeah," Ceileuse mumbled in reply with a nod. "...Sorry about that. I thought you were a girl."
Senith fell silent. "...I don't sound like a girl. ...Do I?"
"I'll be there," the mage replied quickly, and the door shut, leaving Senith perplexed as he started back off, deciding to search for Jukka to get an opinion on his seemingly feminine tone of voice.

((My bad Aleu XD))
"Ah well you have your moments." Jukka walked casually up beside Senith after he asked the question out loud. "Nah, only joking," Jukka clapped Senith on the shoulder. "Cei's probably just disturbed by being stalked since we got back from the hunt." They were walking across a makeshift bridge between two rooftops, heading towards Jukka's small hut.
"Well..I'm exhausted..I think I'll skip the meal...but come get me before the Remembrance, wouldn't be good to miss that." He gave a nod to his friend and entered his small shack. Without even thinking, he flung himself to his bed and fell asleep almost instantly.

Serene shut the door on her shared home quietly, not wanting to wake the sleeping Kapu within. Poor thing; he'd spend the last sleep cycle working with Menma on a project, and he'd only come home around the same time Serene had. She only stayed long enough to shake off the lith and set away her broadsword before bidding him a good sleep and leaving. Aleu was nowhere to be seen; presumably she'd be helping put things together for the Remembrance. She had known Sagi's family quite well, and was more than willing to lend a hand in honoring Sagi's father.
Serene, on the other hand, had never known them: she had no plans to show up at the ceremony. It'd be rather awkward, and there was sleep to attend to. Kapu was at home, and she didn't want to bother him again, so Serene hopskipflapped over the chasms between rooftops towards her own little quiet spot, near the edge of Ellus.
Serene let herself fall into the shadow of an overhang belonging to a gothic-styled roof, onto a small platform. Below the main roof ran a protruding ledge, spacious and set with gargoyles near the sides. Some of the gargoyles had had pieces broken off by something: one missed a nose, another an arm, a third its head and a fourth was gone altogether. Yet it was a nice, snug little spot, without much of a view but wide enough for Serene to curl up or lie down comfortably without fear of falling (the statues kept her from rolling out), and it was well removed from the rest of the settlement: no one could see here from up top. The view wasn't much to speak of, save for if one was interested in studying the Veil.
It was here that she settle down to rest, pressing herself against the building and wrapping her arms around a gargoyle and wings around herself for comfort. There was always a mild draft in the little crevice. She found it rather comforting, though, so closed her eyes and pulled herself a little more into the shape of a ball before drifting to sleep.
--
Quietly, Aleu arranged the little glass balls of oil on the shelves, then cupped a hand over each of them. When she removed it from each one, a small flame danced on the tip of its wick. The Remembrance Hall was a smallish, circular building made of aluminum, with a single door and not much to speak of, inside or out. The interior was lit by small glass orbs of oil with a single wick sticking from the top. There were hundreds of them all around, but only a few near the center were lit. Aleu was going from one to another, each time cupping her hand over the wick and lighting it with a quiet spell.
Such things were soothing work. It quieted her mind and let her simply focus on something mundane for a while. Little things like fire were such weak magic that it required no presence of mind to conjure, so Aleu was free to simply walk around and enjoy the slightly warm, heavily scented air amid the flicking brown lights.
In the center of the room, constantly being brushed by her long robe and stole (Aleu had dressed nice for the occasion), was an inked, circular pattern of small characters. She had put it down a while ago (to give the ink time to dry). It was a record of the deeds and tidings of Sagi's father's life, filled with things like "Discovered the Times Deposit" (a large store of metal), "Defended Ellus during the Night of the Firey-Eyed," etc.
----
"Dinner is ready!" shouted Sagi through the megaphone at the kitchen door. A stream of hungry people began gathering by the dining hall, where dinner was served in a "come and go" kind of fashion. It would be set out at the start of dinner and left for anyone who wished to eat later, eat again, or things of the sort. Since sleeping schedules generally weren't well synchronized, things tended to work out better this way.
Dinner was a simple affair: there wasn't really a lot to work with. The beast had been skinned and well roasted, with just the barest bit of seasoning using sparing amounts of the precious store of spices that had been luckily harvested a few years ago. It lay on a number of planks in the long table that made up the dining hall, and people quickly crowded with little tin plates to take their share.
