Xanther stared blankly at Karra for a few seconds then shook her hand. "Xanther. Nice to meet you." His gaze drifted from her face to her wings. Could she be an angel too?

((Right ... Ryan and the inablity to be normal))
Ryan looked up, he was so very late as it was, and he knew he really needed to resting his bow before he got there, how professtional would it look if he arived with a screwed up bow. But he was late already. Ryan knew that he had no choice, he had to get there. He soon came to a town, walking in half fixing his hair, half stringing his bow. He'd overslept, for a very long time.

"It's nice to meet you too. Cit doesn't talk to a lot of people so she won't be saying much." She turned to the person playing with her wings. "You like them? I have them because I'm an angel. Cit doesn't talk much about her past." At that same time, Cit was saying to Callas, "Why can't you talk to me?" Callas nudged her with his nose.

((Here we go ^^))
The man looked around at the group, nodding and clearing his throat at odd intervals. Leaving everyone arranged in a loose crescent around the ruined fountain, he stood up on the rim and raised his arms.
"Welcome, friends, to Jerraj, City of the Savants! I am the twenty-second mayor of Jerraj, Jerraj the Twenty Second!"
Aleu bit her lip, trying not to smile. Serene gave him a look.
The mayor dropped his arms. "Down to business, I suppose? Alright. The Desecrators are a cult of savages that come and pass through the towns, destroying anything in their way. We do not know of their motives or what they seek: but they kill liberally whenever they visit. We lost over a hundred people the last time, half of them women or children. This is not happening only here, in Jerraj, but around the country: the death toll of their last circuit around the cities easily exceeded ten thousand. We cannot let this go on; hence, you.
"Friends, your mission, in short, is to destroy the Desecrators. There is speculation, backed up by some books from the time, that the caverns near their home in the Ocean of Birds house the remains of a great historian who lived through the creation of the cult. We hope that if his records could be obtained, there may be some hints as to how to defeat them.
"However, there is a slight downside to this. The stealthy nature of the journey requires a small party, of maybe four or five people at most. You will have to decide who will go and who will not. Fear not, however, for those who remain will not need to stay idle. We have recieved other information, and there will be a job for you all as well."
"And will we be paid for this extra job?" Serene asked, tilting onto her heels.
"Yes, but that's already covered by the contract." The mayor nodded at the ramshackle line of building along the road. "Those are the remains of the residential district. Most of the home are unoccupied but still have most of their furnishings. A bed, a blanket, nothing special but you may spend the night in the home of your choice. We will give you dinner tonight, and breakfast tomorrow morning before you leave. Feel free to explore at your leisure until nightfall." The mayor clapped his hands. "Dismissed."
The crowd seemed to relax, and a general babble rose up. Aleu leaned close to her sister. "Let's get everyone somewhere quiet to talk about this..." Serene nodded, and nudged up alongside Ceileuse. "Get everyone by the copse near the entrance," she whispered, then walked out with Aleu and Kapu.
Once they were outside the gates, Serene heaved a mighty sigh and shivered, leaning against Aleu. "That was hard."

/me A hundered in one raid? Vara thought, scratching his chin. /me Scum. /me Much worse than me. Then, looking around at all the clatter, he thought. /me Well, this may be slightly more enjoyable than normal. /me No one here seems to know who I am, since its so far away from that place. He then noticed a couple people heading out the entrance of the town. /me hmm.....
Quickly he turned his thoughts to the mission. /me I'm not one to go stealthily searching for information. "I'll bet the other mission has something to do distracting those... scum. It'd be pretty hard to do the main mission without them all trying to stop us from finding that dead guy, which means it'd be twice as hard with them there."

Ceileuse watched as Serene walked away, thinking about what she told him to do. She looks sort of familiar... Oh, blah. I should just hurry up and get everyone to the entrance. He spread his wings, flapping them casually as he hovered over to the others. "Guys, we're supposed to meet near the entrance." The redhead shook his head lightly to get his long bangs out of his eyes and drifted off towards Aleu, Kapu, and Serene.

Fai trotted energetically after Ceileuse
~~Ten thousand people... and one hundred in this city alone? That's terrible! I'll make those savages wish they'd never gone near this place!~~ As she thought, she was having intermittent fits of giggling, ~~"I am the twenty-second mayor of Jerraj, Jerraj the Twenty Second!"~~ she tried to suppress her laughter.

Ryan wasn't really paying much attention to what had just been said, so he followed a girl who was trotting after someone, and seemed to know where they were going. He'd managed to make himself look remotly presentable.
"So, what's happening?" He said nudging the girl he started off following. ((Fai))

"the twenty second! pffthaha!" Fai felt the nudge. "Huh? erm... it was... umm..." She searched her thoughts for a few moments, "Killing... cities... one hundred... something about finding something... Aha! we're supposed to go on a killing spree through one hundred cities! ... Hold on, that's not right!" "I- ... forgot"

Jukka chuckled to himself as he casually walked over to the entrance with the rest of the crew. The black-clad teen figured he's best with direct fighting. He had always been like that, upfront with everything, and that included fighting. He reached the wall, and leaned against it behind two people (Fai and Ryan) and chuckled more at the girl's forgetfullness.

Ceileuse reached the entrance and glanced back at the others. He had heard Ryan's question before, and, after hearing Fai's response, thought he'd take the time to answer. "There are these people called the Desecrators who killed a ton of people, and we're supposed to stop them. First, we need to go to some guy's house and look for some book on hints to defeat them, or something... But only a few of us can go, and the remaining people will have a different job to do."
He pondered what he just said, frowning and scratching his head. "Was that right? I think that's what that guy said... Huh..."

Serene turned around, nerves making her leg jitter. "Uhm, okay. I know a few of you all. Uh, I hope you all remember me. My name is Serene: a few of you I might have met at, mm, tournies, and if you remember, I've... ah, been made, uh, leader, eh, of this... uhm, party."
Aleu gave her a little nudge. "You stood up to number twenty-two fine."
"Naaa." Serene pushed her back, rubbing her eyes. "Uh, okay. In any case, we need to figure out what's going on. Is everyone up to speed? If not, Kapu will explain."
"Me?" Kapu looked up from his crouching position, poking at the ground and looking for something possibly edible. Hazelnuts were wonderful.
"Yea. So, I was thinking... we're going to need mobility for the stealth mission, so that means everyone who can fly, being me and Ceileuse, at a bare minimum. Maybe Kapu, but he's a little loud..." Serene played with a lock of her hair, trying to keep from looking nervous.
"Kapu can raise the dead," Aleu cut in. Kapu scowled at her.
"Moving on. We're going to need four, at a max five, people for the actual nitty gritty. Everyone else will have to stay behind. Ceileuse and I are automatics, so that's two more. Volunteers? Don't, ah, make me pick for you. Erm, excuse me please." Serene coughed a little and quickstepped away from the group. She sat down on a rock and hugged herself.
((It's not very obvious, but here goes: Serene's going through an adjustment phase right now. She's been a very shy and neglected child, so they're trying to bolster her confidence by making her leader. Sorry for taking Ceileuse like that, P DX))
