The sky fades into a shade of crimson red as the dawn breaks and light begins to emerge from the eastern mountains. Stars that had wheeled overhead the night before now begin to the disappear, the sparkle they held dimming in the growing source of light. Soft winds blow across the land, causing the trees and grass to rustle soothingly, barely disturbed. Amist all this peace and harmony sounds a call-- an eerie howl that sends shivers down the spine of anybody who listens... and there, barely audible, is a steady beat. The quiet pounding resides in your mind, its echoes rippling about, almost in tune with your own heart. It grows louder and louder. Each pulse seems to rise in intensity and speed as time passes by...
There it is again-- that howl. By now, the beat has been accented, fulling blasting in volume! That regular pounding lingers in the depths of one's mind, never ceasing its steady rhythm... Above, the lightening sky is drenched in all shades of red and oranged, like a bloodied canvas drenched in crimson liquid. The beating has never stopped. It continues to sound... it showers an ever-growing fear upon all life. And it is know as the drum of war. Another howl echoes from the distance, singing a dispairing melody and crying out for aid.
It was not yet a month ago that the two wolven tribes-- Nightly Whispers and Crossroads of Twilight-- joined forces, banning against the threat of the human race. They had carefully planned their actions, seeking to strike their enemy from its weakest point. As clever as they were, their strategy was foiled by a surprise attack from the South. A band of mercenaries had flocked in a small town and avoided the wolf's keen eye, only to ambush the wolves before they had managed to set their plan into action. This was a fatal blow to the two tribes...
Many young warriors died... but the worse had yet to come. The wolves' original enemy was coming, almost arriving at their doorstep. Darago, the leader of Nightly Whispers stood strong, refusing to surrender and bow to a human. He would think of something new... the humans were not winning. They could not overcome the wolves when the beasts had the advantage of their own terrain. However, the humans had no intention of ceasing their attacks either. Slowly, his forces were drained of their energy, though still willing to fight. Darago's last hope of victory laid in his brothers and sisters-- those of the Mountain region. Would they come to his aid?
Vixen and Whisper, a sturdy pair of warriors, had started the few day's journey to the mountains, requesting the aid of their neighbors. They have yet to return with news of refusal, or an entire army as an acceptance. The Nightly Whispers' alpha awaits them eagerly.
But another negative turn of events have been a dangerous blow to the wolves... Ramacus, one of Darago's trusted mascus, led a small group to fend off in-coming humans from the Southern border. There were simply too many humans and the enemy surrounded them, taking those wolves as hostages. Although burdened by a heavy heart, Darago refused to surrender, knowing that if he did, the entire wolven race would become extinct. He would have to trust those wolves to free themselves.
What little hope do the wolves have left? The mountain clan is days away, even if they do grant Darago's request. Ramacus' small group must plan an escape route, if they want to survive and rejoin the main force. Both Nightly Whispers and Crossroads of Twilight are on the brink of destruction-- their warriors are exhausted, their supplies of food running low. There is only so much they can do... yet, they must succeed. One wolf can tip the scale-- the difference between victory and defeat.

Lyara has returned, taking off from exactly where it left off. Or close enough.
This time around, I will be posting this RP in Derris Kharlan, so if you're interested, you absolutely have to be accepted as an advanced roleplayer. No excuses. This roleplay will be an interesting one, since there will be three groups total, each one with different goals, but are ultimately aiming for the same objective. If you're interested and would like details, feel free to post questions or ideas in this thread. The actual RP will not begin until Christmas break, so you have time to decide what you want.
You are welcome to use the same characters you did last time, or if you want new characters, I'll just assume that your first ones were killed. There will be a character thread soon in Derris Kharlan so you can create your wolves. I'm also planning on opening up a shop in the member show-off board if you would like a customized picture of your wolves. ...I'll just wait until I have time to make them, seeing as finals are coming up.
Also, just to warn you... I'm going to be more of a nazi with this RP. I want it to turn out well, so for those who want to join, I'm going to add a minimum-restriction as to how much you can post. I think it's going to be one well-carved paragraph (about five sentences). If you want to improve your writing, this is a good way to do it... Forcing yourself to write more will surely make you a better RPer. I'm encouraging everyone to join and to at least try out for being an advanced RPer, since more of the interesting threads will go into Derris Kharlan.
Good luck! I look forward to RPing with all of you! <3
By the way, please post here if you plan on joining, or even if you're thinking about it! I want to know about how many people are interested.
