Well, I´m a BIG LotR-Fan. I like all books from Tolkien - The hobbit, the lost tales, the Silmarillion, all. And I read them many times, because I like the way Tolkien is telling the story.
Well, did you know that in "The hobbit" there is no single women? I saw that only for a few a weeks, as a friend of mine told me: "Where are the womens in the book". ;D

*gasp* TLoR was my major obsession for some time... And by the way, Aleu, don't read the books. No one cares about the books. No one can read them. Tolkien spent three pages describing a tree once-- and I just don't care. Watch the movies!

Exactly that´s for me the thing which cool in LotR: I love the many little details in the book.

Yeah, but sometimes with the small print, I accidentally skip a line, and get all confuzzled and need to start the page over again

This happened me very often at the first reading of the book (many years ago). I skipped many lines and so I get only the half of the book ;D

Haha same here ;D It got to be annoying, so I got the book from the library with larger print...It turned out to be useful

I read the Fellowship and then gave up. I couldn't go on... Tolkein's just so hard to comprehend...

FotR is the part of the book which is most boring, but the FotR film is much better^^

The movie is great. I'm glad they left out all of the events in that forest. That part really bored me.

I liked how detailed it was, it made it feel like you were right there watching... definately made it easier for them to make a movie out of it...
...waitaminit... by animated, you wouldn't be referring to that "the Hobbit" animated movie from eons past?

The animated "The Hobbit" was great! Gollum looked like an overgrown toad with monkey ears!
